Special Days. In addition to the holidays specified in this Article, full time employees shall receive eight (8) hours of paid leave. Part-time, seasonal and job share employees shall receive a prorated share of eight (8) hours of paid leave at their regular straight time rate of pay based upon the same percentage or fraction of month, as they are normally scheduled to work. Paid leave granted in this Section, shall be accrued by all employees employed as of December 24 of each year. Employees may request the option of using this paid leave on the work day before or after Christmas, the work day before or after New Year’s Day or, when these days are not available to an employee, on another day of the employee’s choice; provided that approved usage of this leave shall be granted on a basis which shall preclude the closure of facilities. However, the day must be used no later than June 30th of that fiscal year or it is forfeited and is not compensable.
Special Days a. Special Dress is allowed on building ‘dress up days’ as allowed and pre-approved by the building principal.
Special Days. All secretaries will work until one half hour earlier than their regular dismissal time on days of conferences. The Chief School Administrator shall schedule one (1) secretary in each building for each evening conference to work from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on a rotational basis, unless there are sufficient volunteers, and the employee shall be compensated at their current rate.

Special Days. When an Employee's work schedule requires them to work Christmas Day, New Year's Day, the Employer shall make every effort subject to operational requirements and the written receipt of at least fourteen (14) calendar days, to rearrange the work schedule so the Employee shall have one (1) of those days off if requested which won't be unreasonably denied by management.
Special Days. Each employee is entitled to three (3) paid special days in a calendar year. Special days are to be used to meet special needs for time off for personal business not covered under this agreement. One special day accumulates for each four (4) months worked but cannot be carried forward to another calendar year. The scheduling of special days must be approved in advance in order to ensure adequate coverage, but reasons for the use of special days need not be approved nor reported. Special days are not to be used as a vacation day. Where special days are not needed, they expire with the calendar year and are not paid out. For staff leaving employment before the end of the calendar year, the special days entitlement will be pro-rated to reflect only that portion of the year actually worked and any amount claimed above the pro-rated amount will be deducted from their final pay.

Special Days. For School Holidays and Professional Days (6 days; 10/24, 11/26, 1/19, 1/20, 2/16, 4/3) This plan pays for special days in advance and reserves your child’s space in the program. An additional reservation form must also be completed at least three days prior to the special day. These forms are available at the Before & After School Programs and also in the School Age Care Office. The cost is $30.00 per child per day. Children who have not completed and returned a reservation form by the deadline will be charged an additional $5.00 per day. Special Days are only offered at the Xxxx Xxxxxx Teen Center of the Berlin YMCA. Winter Break (6 days; December 22, 2014 – January 2, 2015) ‐ Closed 12/24/14, 12/25/14, 12/26/14 & 1/1/15. Spring Break (5 days; March 9 – 13, 2015) *Winter and Spring Break are automatically drafted in addition to the Special Days program. You may sign up for these days at a later date, but payment in full will be expected at that time. Winter and Spring Break Camp will only be held at the Xxxx Xxxxxx Center of the Berlin YMCA. A non‐refundable $45.00 registration fee plus $10.00 for each additional child and the first draft payment is due at the time of registration. Please note that After‐School and Before‐Care draft payments are continuous throughout the school year and will not change during the months of December and March. The School Age Program allows one change of plan per child without penalty. Any additional changes will result in a $25.00 processing fee.
