Special or Compassionate Leave. 23.3.1 The Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year for special or compassionate purposes.
23.3.2 Notwithstanding subsection 23.3.1, a Deputy Minister may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for six (6) months or less for special or compassionate purposes.
23.3.3 A leave of absence with pay may be granted for more than six (6) months upon the certificate of the Public Service Commission.
23.3.4 An employee granted a leave of absence pursuant to Article 23.3 shall accrue credits and be covered by benefit plans during such leave.
Special or Compassionate Leave. Leave-of-absence without pay and without loss of seniority may be granted to an employee for special or compassionate reasons or for educational purposes if the request meets the operational requirements of the Employer for a period of up to one (1) continuous year with the approval of the Chief Executive Officer. Application for leave under this section should be submitted in writing at least fourteen (14) days prior to commencement of requested period of leave, except in cases of emergency when as much notice as possible should be given.
Special or Compassionate Leave. 23.3.1 The Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year for special or compassionate purposes.
23.3.2 Notwithstanding subsection 23.3.1, the CEO or his or her designee in his or her discretion may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for a specified period for special or compassionate purposes.
23.3.3 Omit as no longer applicable
23.3.4 An employee granted a leave of absence pursuant to Article 23.3 shall accrue credits and be covered by benefit plans during such leave.
Special or Compassionate Leave. 13.1 (a) The Employer may grant leave of absence with pay for not more than eight (8) days in any attendance year as defined in Article 9.1 to an employee upon any special or compassionate grounds and the period of the leave shall be charged against the attendance credits of the employee unless otherwise herein provided.
Special or Compassionate Leave. (a) The Employer may grant leave of absence with pay for not more than six (6) days in any attendance year as defined in Article 9.1 to an employee upon any special or compassionate grounds and the period of the leave shall be charged against the attendance credits of the employee unless otherwise herein provided.
(b) Up to three (3) days leave under Article 13.1(a) may be granted for the following reasons:
(i) professional, legal and/or medical appointments that cannot be scheduled outside the employee's work hours;
(ii) parental and/or family related responsibilities.
(c) Leaves specified under 13.1(b) would be subject to the following provisions:
(i) the employee applies for such leave at least seven (7) days in advance of the period required, or as soon as such period is known; and Mαys 21
(ii) the leave requested is approved by the employee's immediate supervisor or his/her designate.
(d) For the purpose of administration, approved leave specified under 13.1(b) shall be charged against the employee's attendance credits as follows:
(i) up to two (2) hours: one quarter (1/4) day credit;
(ii) between two (2) hours and four (4) hours: one half (1/2) day credit;
(iii) between four (4) hours and six (6) hours: three quarter (3/4) day credit;
(iv) more than six (6) hours: one (1) full day credit.
(e) Approval for such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld, however it is understood by the parties that approval may be denied if it disrupts the Employer operations.
13.2 Leave of absence with pay may be granted for special or compassionate purposes:
(a) up to six (6) months with the approval of the Employer; and
(b) over six (6) months upon the recommendation of the Employer and with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

Leaves specified under would be subject to the following provisions: the employee applies for such leave at least seven (7) days in advance of the period required, or as soon as such period is known; and the leave requested is approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor or designate. For the purpose of administration, approved leave specified under shall be charged against the employee’s attendance credits as follows: up to two (2) hours: one quarter day credit; between two (2) hours and four (4) hours: one half day credit; between four (4) hours and six (6) hours: three quarter day credit; more than six (6) hours: one (1) full day credit.
Special or Compassionate Leave. Employees may be granted a leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year for special or compassionate purposes. This leave is for unforeseen emergencies, and Employees should request approval from her manager. Longer periods of leave of absence with pay may also be considered for special or compassionate purposes, and will require additional approvals. An Employee granted a leave of absence shall continue to accrue credits, seniority and be covered by benefit plans during such leave.
