Stand-by Premium. Off-duty standby assignments shall be posted with regular schedules and determined in advance by supervision. Volunteers will be used for standby assignment when practicable. RNs placed on standby status off the Medical Center premises shall be compensated at the rate of four dollars ($4.00) per hour for the first forty-nine (49) hours. RNs shall receive six dollars and twenty-five cents ($6.25) per hour for all mandatory standby hours of fifty (50) or more per pay period. When called in from standby status, the nurse shall receive premium pay (time and one-half the nurse's regular rate) for a minimum work period of three (3) hours. If a nurse is called from stand by status to work within eight hours of the nurse's next scheduled shift, the nurse will be permitted a minimum of the next eight hours off duty. The nurse may use leave without pay or benefit time other than sick leave except where the use of sick leave is otherwise appropriate.

When the Employer places an employee on standby, she/he shall be paid a standby rate of $3.30 per hour for the time she/he spends on standby and $4.00 per hour upon ratification and increase to $4.90 effective January 1, 2010. In the event that the employee is called into work while on standby, she/he shall be paid a call back rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times her/his straight time rate with a guaranteed minimum of four (4) hours with pay at time and one-half (1 ½) from the time she/he leaves home until she/he returns home. Compensation for a call back from standby that does not require the Radiation Therapist to leave his or her home will be at a rate of one-half (1/2) hour paid at a rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular straight time hourly rate per call in increments of one half (1/2) hour. It is understood that this half hour compensation will be considered compensation for all subsequent calls within that half hour. When called into work under this provision, the standby rate shall not be payable for any hours when the call-back rate is paid. The employee shall not be entitled to a payment for more than one call-back within the same four (4) hour period from the time the employee left her/his home.
Stand-by Premium. Nurses who are requested by the Employer to be on “stand by” shall be paid eight dollars ($8.00) per eight hour shift, twelve dollars ($12.00) per twelve hour shift, or portion thereof. Nurses shall not be requested to be on “stand by” on their days off.
Stand-by Premium. A full-time or regular part-time employee required to be on stand-by shall receive stand-by pay in the amount of three dollars ($3.00) per hour of stand- by, and if any employee is called in from such a stand-by, compensation will be paid at the rate of time and one-half of the regular rate of the employee for the hours worked. Stand-by pay shall, however, cease when an employee is called in and works during the period of stand-by. The number of hours worked shall be deducted from the hours paid for stand-by.

Stand-by Premium. 26.01 An employee who must remain on stand-by will be advised in advance by their immediate supervisor. The employee must be able to arrive at work within the normal time period. An employee on stand-by after their regular workday or work week will receive a premium of for each eight (8) hour period during which the employee remains on stand-by. Starting on June 1, 2022, the stand-by premium will be increased each year by the same percentage as salary scales increases as defined in article 24.01. The Stand-By Premiums shall be equivalent to the following amounts:
26.02 An employee who reports for work while on stand-by will receive payment over and above the stand-by premium, according to the provisions of article 22 Overtime) and article 25 (Minimum Recall Pay). Stand-by assignments will be distributed in the most equitable manner possible on a rotation basis among the employees within the work unit concerned who normally perform the work required, starting with the most senior employee. All stand-by is optional. However, should there be no volunteers in departments where there must be one or more employees on stand-by on a continuous basis, stand-by assignments will be distributed on a rotation basis (a list including everyone) among all the employees within the work unit starting with the employee with the lowest seniority.
