State Disability. The Company shall provide compensation for all hours of absence in accordance with this Article less any amount due the employee in accordance with California State Disability Insurance (SDI). Employees shall be responsible for timely applying for SDI. Whether or not an employee applies for SDI, the amount an employee is entitled to receive will be deducted from STD.
State Disability. Pursuant to the 1986 unit member election, the unit members are to participate, at their own expense, in the State Disability Income Protection Plan. Participation shall be solely at unit member expense, but the overhead cost of administration shall be borne by the District. SDI benefits are to be integrated with the District's sick leave benefits.
State Disability. Employees on State Disability may choose to have their sick leave benefits integrated with their disability payment by informing the Benefits Office.
27.9.1 Said provision shall be promulgated each semester in the Weekly Administrative Directive (WAD).
State Disability. Insurance (SDI): The SDI program shall be funded entirely through part-time faculty contributions with no financial impact on the District (other than the administrative cost of establishing payroll deduction). In the event that a change occurs in the SDI funding model, the Yosemite Faculty Association and the District agree to reopen negotiations on the program.
State Disability. Employees are eligible to receive short term disability pay for 180 days from the start of a short term disability absence. For the first ninety (90) days of this absence, employees must use any available paid sick leave time they have to cover the first five (5) work days of absence (“waiting period”). Employees may choose to use paid sick leave time, as well as unused vacation time and Floating Holidays, to supplement California State Disability Insurance (SDI) for the first ninety (90) days of absence, in accord with the paragraph that follows. Paid sick leave time, and unused vacation time, and Floating Holidays are not available to supplement California State Disability Insurance (SDI) after the first ninety (90) days of absence. After the five (5) day waiting period, for employees who have available and choose to use sick leave hours, unused vacation time, and/or Floating Holidays, the Company shall provide compensation for all hours of absence in accordance with this Article less any amount due the employee in accordance with California State Disability Insurance (SDI). Employees must promptly apply for SDI and immediately notify the designated company administrative representative when they receive confirmation of SDI benefits. Upon request, the Company will provide guidance to employees regarding the SDI application process. The employee then shall, upon receipt of SDI benefits, reimburse the Company to the extent the Company has paid the amount received as SDI benefits. Upon Company receipt of such reimbursement, the Company shall reinstate sick leave hours to the employees’ sick leave balance equivalent to such reimbursement, and shall reinstate any vacation time or Floating Holiday hours to the employees’ vacation or Floating Holiday allotment balance equivalent to such reimbursement; the Company will notify the affected employee of the time that has been reinstated. Any employee who fails to reimburse the Company within three (3) months after receiving any payment from SDI for which reimbursement is required under this Section will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from employment. The Company must notify an employee in writing of his or her obligations under this Section and the potential consequences for not meeting them at least thirty (30) calendar days before taking such disciplinary action.
State Disability. Insurance (SDI) The District shall enroll all eligible unit members in State Disability Insurance. The program is funded by employee contribution through payroll deduction. The program shall provide for a coordination of disability insurance benefit, and accumulated sick leave. Unit members utilize the combination of SDI and one-third of sick leave.
11.27.1 Paid Family Leave (PFL) In accordance with section 11.26.3, the bargaining unit member may elect to supplement their income with PFL.
State Disability. If an Employee is eligible for basic UCD (Disability) benefits, Employer-paid sick leave shall be reduced by the amount of the UCD benefits the Employee is eligible to receive. Payments received in the form of basic UCD benefits shall not be charged against the Employee’s accumulated sick leave.
State Disability. 5.5.6.1 Employees on State Disability may choose to have their sick leave benefits integrated with their disability payment by informing the Leaves and Separations in the Human Resources Department.
5.5.6.1.1 Said provision shall be promulgated each semester in OASIS and posted on employment information boards at each worksite.
State Disability. Effective July 1, 1994, the County will begin a six-month pilot program for employees eligible for State Disability benefits. At the end of the six (6) month pilot program, the County will meet and confer to evaluate whether the plan will be continued. Employees eligible for SDI benefits will be required to make application for SDI benefits and to have those benefits integrated with the use of their sick leave accruals on the following basis:
State Disability.
1. All members entitled to Labor Code Section 4850 and including presumptive illnesses shall be exempt from participation in the California State Disability Insurance Program.
2. All other members shall participate in the California State Disability Insurance Program.
