SUMMER SCHOOL AND SUMMER WORK. 1. An employee employed to give instruction in summer school shall be paid six percent (6%) of the teacher's regular annual salary, or four percent (4%) of Category 6M maximum, whichever is greater, based upon a sixty (60) hour course or on a pro-rata basis for courses other than sixty (60) hours. 2. Employees hired to work on summer projects other than summer school shall be paid at the rate of 1/190 of the annual salary to which they would be entitled under Articles B.20 (Placement on Scale) and B.22 (Experience Recognition) for each day worked. 3. All terms and conditions of employment, as specified in this Agreement, shall apply to summer school employment, except the following: a. Non-instructional time (D.20 Hours of Work/Non-Instructional Time);

SUMMER SCHOOL AND SUMMER WORK. A. All bargaining unit summer school positions shall be posted and filled per the provisions of Article VI, D by the end of the School Year. B. Compensation for summer school positions shall be per the Wage Schedule in Exhibit B excluding non-bargaining unit employees, i.e., summer migrant aides. C. Opportunity for summer work other than summer school shall be allocated as follows: 1. Employees wishing summer work shall notify the Superintendent's Office prior to the end of the school year. 2. The employee whose position affords the opportunity for additional work shall be given first opportunity to perform the work. (i. e., Secretarial work in the High School will be offered to the most senior qualified secretary in the High School if the work is normally performed by the High School secretary.) 3. If the above employee declines the work, the work shall be offered in the order of seniority to employees in that classification who have notified the Superintendent's Office of their desire for summer work. If no employee in that classification accepts the work, the work may be offered to the most senior employee desirous of summer work in another classification. 4. Wages for summer work shall be paid per Exhibit B by classification. D. Summer Migrant Aides, i.e., those aides employed for only the summer migrant program and who are not bargaining unit members, shall not be covered by the terms of this Agreement.
SUMMER SCHOOL AND SUMMER WORK. 1. Guidelines for Selecting Summer School Teachers a. Application should be in writing prior to a fixed deadline. b. The Director of Summer School will check with the Associate Principals and Principals to ascertain qualifications of teachers. c. Quality should be foremost in consideration before seniority. d. Priority of consideration for summer school positions: i Teacher returning next year; ii Teacher xxxxxxxxxxxx; iii Teacher who is leaving the District; iv Teacher in another District e. A person teaching a summer school course during the school year will be considered prior to thoseteaching another subject. f. Selection of summer school teachers should be rotated from year to year among those that equally qualify to teach a particular subject. g. As soon as possible, all applicants will be notified of their prospects of being employed. h. There may be instances where a conflict exists. The final decision in hiring summer school teachers will be the responsibility of the Superintendent.
SUMMER SCHOOL AND SUMMER WORK. A. All openings for positions in the summer school shall be posted as they become known and applications shall be provided for employment. B. The Board shall maintain the right to employ as summer school teachers persons who are not regularly employed by the district during the school year. Compensation for such individuals shall be at the rate mutually agreed upon by the individual and the Board, not to exceed the compensation paid to Hanover Township teachers. C. Salary rates for positions in the summer school are listed below: Summer School Hourly Rates D. During the last week of summer school, one preparation period of 60 minutes shall be provided for each subject taught for every teaching staff member who must write individual student progress reports and evaluate testing data. E. Paychecks shall be issued midway and on the last day of summer school. F. Summer work which is not in the summer school but is directly related to work performed during the school year shall be paid in accordance with rates contained in paragraph C above. G. Curriculum work performed during the summer shall be compensated at the hourly rates listed below: Curriculum Work Hourly Rates H. All Guidance counselors will work up to but not exceed 204 days at their per diem rate. I. Child Study members will work up to but not exceed 204 days at their per diem rate.
