Compensation for Summer School. An Employee covered by this Agreement who agrees to perform as assigned by the Employer a summer school assignment under the provisions of this Section shall receive additional compensation at the applicable hourly rate set forth in Appendix C. Summer School rates will not change until the beginning of the new school term.
15.7.1 Opportunities for summer school employment shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of Section 10.7 of this Agreement.
15.7.2 No Employee shall be compelled to accept a summer school assignment; provided, however, if an Employee accepts such an assignment, the Employee will be expected by the Employer to perform the duties necessary to complete the assignment. Nothing contained herein shall prevent the Employer from hiring temporary employees to perform summer school assignments.
Compensation for Summer School. Evening School, Other Programs, Hourly-as- Needed, and Annual Program-Based Instructional Employees.
A. Full-time employees employed in programs (such as Lively Technical School) which continue their program beyond the regular school year will, during the summer, receive planning and lunch time consistent with the regular program.
B. Hourly-as-Needed Instructional Personnel.
1. Hourly-as-needed instructional employees who teach fewer than an average of 18.75 hours a week over the course of an academic term shall not receive benefits, nor shall such employees be provided planning time or duty-free lunch.
2. Instructional employees appointed hourly-as-needed as described in this section shall be paid up to the level on the teacher salary schedule commensurate with six years teaching service.
3. Regular full-time employees who are also employed in an hourly-as-needed capacity shall not accrue additional benefits in that capacity except that social security and retirement benefits shall be paid on the compensation provided to such employee in their hourly-as-needed status.
Compensation for Summer School. 13.5.1 Teachers shall be compensated for Summer School, including Academies, at the Extra Duty Rate of Pay in accordance with Article XIII Salaries, Section 13.7.
Compensation for Summer School. The Board of Education may determine that summer school or summer courses, to include driver’s education, as needed, shall be offered under the following conditions:
1. The Board shall determine the length of time and hours per day that school shall be in session. Eight hours shall be considered a full day including up to one hour for planning.
2. The Board shall determine what subjects are to be taught and at what level.
3. The Board reserves the right to employ any qualified teacher to teach the program.
4. Pay shall be determined by dividing the individual teacher’s placement on the salary schedule in effect on June 1 of the year summer school is to be taught by the actual number of duty days of the current contract year. That figure shall then be multiplied by the number of hours to be employed each day and then divided by 8 to determine a daily rate. The daily rate shall then be multiplied by the number of days to be worked to determine the amount to be paid to the teacher.
5. Certified summer school teachers currently not under contract with Xxxxx USD #382 will be compensated using the calculation in item 4, with the base of the salary schedule as the placement, regardless of experience or education.
6. Neither leave benefits nor fringe benefits shall be a part of conditions of employment for the summer school program.
Compensation for Summer School. If the District shall conduct summer school, educators shall be compensated pursuant to Appendix B. Any increase in the length of the summer school day/program as defined in Article V.A will be reflected proportionately in salary increases. No other provision of this Agreement shall apply to summer school unless otherwise specifically provided herein. The Summer School Director shall have the responsibility for providing substitutes for absences during summer school with the understanding the summer school educators may request a particular substitute, subject to the approval of the Summer School Director. The deduction from compensation for an approved summer school absence shall be equal to the cost of the substitute. Xxxx elected Teachers’ Council/NEA-RA delegates to the annual NEA convention may be absent for a maximum of three (3) days to attend the convention. During such absence there shall be no deduction from their summer school compensation. Educators who need to be absent in excess of three (3) days because of NEA delegate responsibilities shall not be employed for summer school.
Compensation for Summer School. Compensation for teaching Summer School shall be at a flat rate. This rate shall be determined by the following ratio: number of days in the summer prorated on an hourly basis divided by the number of contract year days equals the rate which multiplied by the current base salary will equal the compensation for summer school. Payment shall be made at the end of each summer session. Payment is based on a six hour day.
