Technical Environment. 4.3.2.1 Hardware
Technical Environment. Licensor will provide the services and other products, as set forth on Exhibit B, (or similar services and products that provide a similar level of service), and will also provide any and all equipment, to provide the Hosting Services (the “Hosting Environment”) pursuant to Exhibit B. Licensor shall be responsible for the costs associated with obtaining and maintaining the Hosting Environment, unless otherwise indicated on Exhibit A. Licensor also shall pay the costs of the services or other products necessary to permit Customer to transmit data to and receive data from the Hosting Environment; however Customer is responsible for the costs of its own communication lines. Licensor shall maintain and insure the server and shall indemnify Customer for any damage, loss or injury to the equipment (other than normal wear and tear).
Technical Environment. In order to minimize deployment barriers and reduce costs, Northwoods engineers require local and remote (VPN or Hamachi) network access across network system servers, client computers, and image file shares, as well as Local Administrator authority on each designated client or server for the duration of the project. A network account must be created for Vendor engineers, to be used for configuration and review of Compass and application software installed on client and server computers. During the project, it is the responsibility of the IT to acquire and maintain the proper licenses for prerequisite software required to support the Document Management Solution, such as operating systems, Microsoft SQL Server and required CALs. Northwoods engineers will recommend a backup and disaster recovery procedure and provide recommendations on network/infrastructure changes needed to support the Document Management Solution as described in the Work Requirements section. IT is responsible for performing daily backups of all related systems, database, and data files and maintaining current backed-up copies of other pertinent systems and data files. The Compass Software suite is developed using Microsoft tools and technologies. Compass client□server applications run in the PC’s local memory and access databases and information on a central database server. Compass Software requires Windows XP on the local PCs. Proper network infrastructure plays possibly the largest role in the users’ experience with the proposed solution. There are a variety of technologies to allow communication between computers spread across a county. For the purposes of desktop retrieval, a 100 Mb connection is recommended. Remote users and satellite offices may experience reduced productivity and satisfaction with lesser connectivity. HSA provides the appropriate training facilities for onsite training. The training room(s) should be available to trainers for set up one day in advance of any scheduled training. Room security is the responsibility of HSA. In addition, the training room(s) should be equipped with a connection to the application server as well as electrical power. Technical Environment. 11.1 Customer shall provide and ensure Third Party User provides the Technical Environment as stipulated in the Sales Order, Service Catalogue or as otherwise specified by Vigilant Asia from time to time. Vigilant Asia does not guarantee that it shall support, at all times, the version of the Technical Environment as of the time the Sales Order was executed. If Vigilant Asia has notified Customer that the Technical Environment needs to be changed or updated, Customer shall notify Third Party User and if Customer and/or Third Party User (as the case may be) opts not to do so, Vigilant Asia shall not be required to continue the Service, including any support services or Updates for the Service.
11.2 The Customer shall promptly notify Vigilant Asia of any addition, changes and modification to the Technical Environment. If any additional services or installation or deployment services is required due to the aforesaid new Technical Environment, it will be considered a request for additional services by Vigilant Asia for which additional fees may be payable by Customer.

Upon request, a certified employee may check out, laptop computers, tablets, and other available equipment during holidays and summer vacations, provided the use of such equipment will in no way hamper the educational process for the system. It is understood that the employee assumes financial responsibility for the equipment.

Technical Environment. The Company’s current IT architecture is diverse and complex. Below is a general description of the major elements of the IT environment: • Desktop/Laptop systems – comprised of approximately 75% Windows, 20% Macintosh, and 5% Linux. Approximately 45% of all systems are laptops. • Mobile - Tablet and phone devices have become an integral part of the Company's environment. At least a quarter of the staff are utilizing mobile devices to accomplish work tasks. Personal and corporate mobile devices are both viable options and currently access is granted via Citrix XenMobile. Current plans to migrate from XenMobile to Microsoft's Intune are moving forward with migration starting in March. • Data Center Operations - server support for Windows and Linux operating systems, and an environment that is significantly virtualized using VMWare An alternate data center also exists which serves as the disaster recovery site and hosts a subset of critical data center functionality. • Research & Development systems – range in scale from small dedicated servers to high-end clusters which support a broad range of research needs across the Laboratory. These systems are primarily Linux-based systems, but also include some Windows systems. • Messaging and User Productivity – Office 365 environment, as well as numerous other commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) tools. • Remote Access – Citrix thin client (ORNLaccess service), Cisco (AnyConnect VPN), and Microsoft Direct Access. • ERP - The Company uses SuccessFactors/SAP as its Enterprise Resource Planning environment. • Network – CISCO (LAN), Arista (Datacenter), and Juniper (WAN) connectivity with Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls. • Database – mixture of Oracle and SQL. • Applications– – SAP ABAP, Business Server Pages and Web Dynpro, SAP Cloud Platform Integration (SCPI), XXX.XXX, C#, AngularJS, Vue.js, Node.js, Sencha Ext JS, Java, ColdFusion, ServiceNow, WordPress, Drupal, various commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. Applications inventory is comprised of several hundred systems, including approximately 180 business/enterprise systems. Applications are a mixture of custom-developed and COTS solutions. • Intranet portal and primary file sharing – Office 365 (SharePoint and OneDrive) • Business Intelligence – utilizing SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server platforms, Microsoft PowerBI, Visual Studio, and other SAP and Microsoft BI development tools
