Temporary Status. After ninety (90) days, intermittent employees shall be classified as temporary and paid at the temporary rate of pay. The employee still retains all rights to recall as defined in this article.
Temporary Status. (a) Anyone who is employed to teach adults for not more than 60 percent of the hours per week considered a full-time assignment for permanent employees shall be classified as a temporary employee, and shall not become a probationary employee under the provisions of Education Code Sections 44929.25 and 44929.21 and may be released in accordance with Education Code Section 44954. (b) Unit members who are classified as temporary shall be employed on an hourly, as needed basis.
Temporary Status a. A temporary faculty member is a person hired by the College to fill a vacated position caused by the absence (e.g., paid/unpaid leave, LTD, reassignment) of a regular or probationary faculty member or to fill a newly created faculty position. For these positions, the College may appoint an applicant without following the requirements of Article 11. The term of this appointment may only be for one year or less. b. A temporary faculty member shall have all rights and obligations of a bargaining unit member except those limitations expressly imposed by the terms of this Agreement. c. If the College creates a new regular, grant, or trial position with equivalent duties to the temporary position, the position shall be treated as a new bargaining unit position and subject to the provisions of Article 11. A faculty member in the temporary position will be eligible to apply. d. Time spent in temporary status shall apply towards the attainment of regular status if a temporary faculty member is hired into the position through the hiring process. However, there shall be a minimum of three (3) academic terms of normal probationary status before regular status can be obtained. e. A grant status faculty member who is hired as a general fund temporary will not accrue seniority in an additional budgetary unit until the replaced faculty member no longer has any rights to return to the position currently being held by the temporary status faculty member. Once the position is vacated by the replaced faculty member, the grant status faculty member will be placed on probationary status in that position for a minimum of three (3) academic terms if the faculty member has provided satisfactory service. However, if a faculty member returns from their absence or if the grant status faculty member is not continued in the temporary position, the grant status faculty member will be returned to his/her former or similar grant position with the additional seniority gained as a temporary faculty member.
Temporary Status. ‌ 1. Employees in Temporary status will be assigned to positions that are known to be temporary at the time of employment. The Association will be informed not less than 30 days in advance, when a temporary position is offered and the reason therefore. 2. A temporary assignment shall be issued for a period of time not to exceed one year and shall expire on the date indicated. A temporary assignment may be renewed. If a temporary assignment is renewed so that it is in effect for three consecutive years, the position must be terminated at the end of the third year unless it is re-established as a regular position. The decision regarding renewal of a temporary assignment rests with the College. 3. Temporary job assignments can be made through appointment, although competitive searches must be initiated within one year of the appointment, unless otherwise agreed by the College and the Association President or designee. If a temporary position is reestablished as a regular position, it must be posted and filled through a competitive search unless the incumbent was placed in the position by a competitive search. 4. The Association will be informed of the status of each temporary assignment not less than 30 days in advance of the expiration of the assignment.

Temporary Status. Bargaining Unit employees shall be placed on Temporary Status to replace regular, but absent, employees. Bargaining Unit employees shall not be placed on Temporary Status for less than five (5) nor more than thirty (30) consecutive calendar days, nor more than ninety (90) working days per calendar year, unless no eligible employee accepts the assignment. Bargaining Unit employees on Temporary Status shall not be offered overtime except in emergency situations and are excluded from the provisions of Section 601.07. Requests for information on Employee Status Forms shall be provided to the Union President. Eligible employee is defined as an employee who has not worked on Temporary Status for ninety (90) days in that year. Eligible employees shall be scheduled in rotation with every effort made to equalize the temporary full- time opportunities for all eligible employees.
Temporary Status. Section 1. Part-time nurse shall mean any nurse working less than forty (40) hours in one week. Section 2. Benefits for part-time personnel shall be prorated, i.e., vacation, sick leave, differential holidays, and uniform allowance. This Article shall apply to personnel who work twenty (20) or more hours weekly. This Article shall not apply to nurses hired on a per diem basis.

Where an Employee has successfully bid and has been placed in a temporary position, such Employee shall be disqualified from bidding on future temporary job postings for a period of three (3) months following her/his placement in the new position unless the temporary job is not expected to begin until after the three (3) months have expired or unless it is mutually agreed due to extenuating circumstances. An existing Employee who has successfully bid and has been placed in a temporary position, shall retain all rights and privileges as follows: i) a full-time permanent Employee accepting a temporary full-time position or a temporary part-time position shall retain all rights as a full-time Employee; ii) a permanent part-time Employee accepting a temporary full-time position which is expected to exceed three (3) months, shall receive stat holiday pay in accordance with article 13.01 and shall have the option of receiving benefits and sick leave; iii) a permanent part-time Employee accepting a temporary part-time position shall retain all rights as a part-time Employee.
