Unpaid Personal/Carer’s Leave. Where an Employee has exhausted all paid personal/carer’s leave entitlements, he/she is entitled to take unpaid carer’s leave to provide care and support in the circumstances outlined in subclause 76.2(a)(ii), (iii), or (iv). The Employer and the Employee will agree on the period. In the absence of agreement the Employee is entitled to take up to two (2) days' unpaid carer’s leave per occasion.

Unpaid Personal/Carer’s Leave. (a) Subject to the requirements in subclause 13.4 Notice and subclause 13.5 Evidence, a Teacher, including a Casual Teacher, is entitled to take unpaid personal/carer’s leave if they need to provide care or support for a member of the Teacher’s immediate family or household who requires care and support due to illness or injury, due to an unexpected emergency affecting the member or due to the birth of a child. (b) The Employer and the Teacher shall agree on the period for which the Teacher will be entitled to not be available to attend work. In the absence of agreement, the Teacher is entitled to not be available to work for up to 48 hours (i.e. two days) per occasion. The Teacher is not entitled to any payment for the period of non-attendance. (c) A Teacher cannot take unpaid personal/carer’s leave under this subclause if the Teacher is entitled to take paid leave pursuant to this clause. (d) An Employer must not fail to re-engage a Casual Teacher because the Teacher accessed the entitlements provided for in this clause. The rights of an Employer to engage or not to engage a Casual Teacher are otherwise not affected.
Unpaid Personal/Carer’s Leave a) The Employee (including a Casual Employee) who has exhausted their paid Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave entitlement is entitled to up to two 2 days unpaid Carer’s Leave for each occasion when a member of the Employee’s immediate family or household requires their care or support because of a personal illness or injury or an unexpected emergency. b) This unpaid leave can be taken in a single unbroken period of up to 2 days, or if KONE and the Employee agree, in separate periods.

(b) Where an Employee has no entitlement to carer’s leave (with or without pay), any request for leave for such purposes will be given due consideration by the Employer.

Unpaid carers leave can be taken in a single unbroken period or any separate periods agreed between the employee and the Employer.
Unpaid Personal/Carer’s Leave. An employee may take unpaid personal leave/carer’s leave by agreement with the employer. Where the absence exceeds two (2) consecutive days or the employee has previously been absent for an aggregate of six (6) days without production of a medical certificate during the current year of service, shall be accompanied by a medical certificate or other satisfactory evidence if requested. In the event the days taken as unpaid personal leave/carer’s leave are connected to a public holiday the employer will require a medical certificate.
