Vacation Time Earned. Employees will earn annual paid vacation time according to the following schedule: 0-1 year 1 day/month 1-5 years 12 days 6-10 years 18 days 11-15 years 20 days 16-20 years 26 days For the purpose of computing overtime pay, earned vacation days taken during the pay period will be considered as days actually worked. Overtime during this pay period must be approved by the Department Head in advance.
Vacation Time Earned. Vacation time earned during an approved professional development leave period shall be earned at the same level of salary support as eligible under Article 20.04.
Vacation Time Earned. A. Each full time employee hired before July 1, 1994 shall receive vacation based on the following periods of employment:

Vacation Time Earned. Each full-time employee shall earn vacation with pay as follows: 11 thru 15 16 & over Monthly Accumulation Rate 8hours 10 hours 12 hours 14 hours The following additional vacation with pay shall be effective April 1, 2013 20 through 24 14.67 hours 25 and over 15.33 hours Full-time employees who work less than 40 hours but not less than 30 hours per week shall earn vacation leave on a pro-rata basis, based upon the number of hours worked. Part-time employees shall accrue vacation time on a pro rata basis. A pro rata accrued rate shall be based on the number of hours worked.
Vacation Time Earned. Eighty (80) hours of vacation time earned in the first year of continuous service shall be taken during the second year of service, unless forty (40) or more hours of such vacation was already utilized during the first year as described in Section 12.3 below. Similarly, eighty (80) or more hours of vacation time earned in the second year of service shall be taken in the third year of service and so forth. After the completion of six (6) years of continuous service, one hundred twenty (120) hours of vacation time is earned to be taken during the seventh year of service.

1. Vacation is earned and awarded monthly and is computed on the basis of the annual hours divided by the number of months per year.
2. No vacation shall be credited for a month in which the unit employee has been on a leave of absence without pay, excluding disciplinary suspensions without pay during the majority (50%+) of the month.
3. Vacation leave may be taken in increments of one (1) hour or more as approved by Police Management.
4. Unit employees begin to accrue vacation time after their first day of employment as a full-time salaried unit employee. However, the employee will only be eligible to use the 80 hours of vacation provided to them, after 12 months of service and will continue to accrue vacation on a monthly basis thereafter.
5. Any unit employee who is laid off during their first year of employment and is then rehired within (1) year time period shall have their prior service time earned prior to their layoff apply toward their service time eligibility for vacation benefits earned.
6. Unit employees working any schedule, including other than a regular forty (40) hour schedule, shall be subject to the exact same vacation policy as all other unit employees.
7. Vacation leave balance shall be the unit employee's responsibility to monitor. Any employee using vacation leave in excess of the employee's accrued leave shall be required to utilize floating holiday leave, compensatory time or unpaid leave of absence to cover excessive vacation leave taken.
