Workplace Relations Training Leave. A staff member is entitled to a maximum of 10 days’ paid leave in any two consecutive years to attend a course or courses which contribute to a better understanding of workplace relations.

Workplace Relations Training Leave. In order to encourage cooperative workplace relations and facilitate the operation of this agreement, an Employee who makes a request to their Employer to attend training in workplace relations, dispute resolution or grievance management may, with the Employer’s approval, be granted up to five (5) days’ paid leave per annum for attendance at such training, provided that the granting of such leave will not unduly affect the Employer’s operational requirements. The Employer will not unreasonably refuse the granting of such leave.

Workplace Relations Training Leave. 54.1 An employee with 12 months service, excluding a casual employee, who is involved in recognised workplace relations training activities, will be able to apply for up to a maximum of 37.5 hours of paid leave in a calendar year to attend accredited short courses, seminars or conferences as approved. An employee may access up to 75 hours in 1 calendar year where the total Workplace Relations Training Leave accessed in that calendar year combined with the total in the following calendar year is no more than 75 hours. 54.2 The University may approve Workplace Relations Training Leave for an employee with less than 12 months service, excluding a casual employee, where special circumstances exist. 54.3 Workplace Relations Training Leave will be paid at the ordinary rate of pay and will not include shift allowances, penalty rates or overtime. Any University Holiday or rostered day occurring during the leave will be treated as part of the leave and extra days off will not be approved.
Workplace Relations Training Leave. An employee may be granted up to 5 working days leave on ordinary rates each calendar year (non-cumulative), to attend union convened courses and seminars that contribute to a better understanding of workplace relations, including trade union training leave and required attendance at regional, State and National union meetings or conferences, provided that the University is not involved in any other costs except for the payment of extra remuneration where relieving arrangements are instituted to cover the absence of the employee.

Workplace Relations Training Leave. 11.2.1 An employee shall be entitled to attend workplace relations training leave in order to further her/his understanding of the requirements of the Workplace Relations Act 1996 and associated workplace relations issues. 11.2.2 The training shall be provided by a provider nominated by the employee by way of formal application by the employee. 11.2.3 The employer shall not unreasonably refuse such applications. 11.2.4 The employer will provide for a minimum of 5 days training, paid at ordinary time, per year of employment for each employee. 11.2.5 The maximum number of employees of one and the same employer attending a course or seminar at the same time will be as follows: (a) Where the employer employs between one and 50 employees – one. (b) Where the employer employs between 50 and 100 employees – two. (c) Where the employer employs over 100 employees – four. 11.2.6 Leave granted to attend paid training shall not incur additional payment if the training coincides with the employee’s rostered day off in the nineteen day month or with any other paid leave. 11.2.7 In the event that there is disagreement between the employer and the employee about any matters pertaining to training the employee may utilise the dispute settlement procedure contained in this agreement at clause 3.3.

Workplace Relations Training Leave. 5.12.1. Employees will be entitled to up to five days training leave per year with pay to attend a course (however described) which is directed to improving the skills and knowledge of the participant in the system of workplace relations. 5.12.2. Training content may include but is not necessarily limited to knowledge about the system of workplace relations including rights and obligations of the Employers and Employees, skills such as communication, negotiations, dispute resolution and grievance handling, bargaining and agreement making, research equity and discrimination and health and safety. 5.12.3. The release of Employees for leave under the provisions of this clause shall be subject to there being no disruption to the operational requirements of the business. 5.12.4. Requests for leave are to be submitted by Employees as early as practicable but not less than two weeks before commencement.
