General Illness definition

General Illness means an illness which causes an Employee to be absent from duty for a period of more than three (3) consecutive work days but shall not exceed:

General Illness Leave shall be in addition to any Casual Illness Leave entitlements specified in this collective agreement. The Parties agree that General Illness benefits as provided in this collective agreement are intended only for the purpose of protecting an Employee from loss of income when the Employee is ill or disabled.
General Illness is an illness as described in 27.01 (a) which causes an Employee to be absent from work for a period of more than two (2) consecutive work days.

(g) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraphs (a) through (f) above, general illness absences arising from bone marrow and organ donations will be paid at 100% of the Employee’s normal salary. 23.02 Notwithstanding the provisions of Clause 23.01, the probationary period for new hires into the Customer Service Specialist role within the Customer Care Centre will be up to twelve (12) months. Should a Customer Service Specialist meet the established performance standards for appointment to a permanent role prior to the completion of the twelve-month probationary period, the Employee will be confirmed as a Permanent Employee upon attainment of the standards.
