ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. At the end of each school year, teachers with more than 70 days accumulated temporary leave shall be paid $25.00 per each such day. Partial days will be calculated to the nearest half day. Pay for such half-days shall be $12.50. Payment for such days shall be made in June following the end of the school year. Wellness incentive will include the option for Certified Staff to trade accumulated sick days over 70, for a personal day. The criteria for such trade are: If a teacher has an accumulation of over 74 days at the end of a year, they may elect to take an additional personal day in lieu of payment (4 days’ equals one personal day). One additional personal day per year is the maximum allowed for this trade. All requests for the wellness incentive must be made by June 1st of the current year.
ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. Should a driver terminate his/her employ- ment after five (5) years or more from his/her last date of hire as a regular driver, he/she will be eligible to draw pay for thirty (30) percent of unused sick days at regular rate of pay. After ten (10) years or more, he/she will be eligible to draw pay for forty (40) percent unused sick days at regular rate of pay. After fifteen (15) years or more, he/she will be eligible to draw pay for fifty (50) percent unused sick days at regular rate of pay. "Regular Rate of Pay" pertains to hourly wage and ntnnber of hours per day I at the time of termination.

ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. A. Upon retirement, a teacher shall be entitled to payments and/or contributions for sick leave days that are unused and accumulated as of the end of the school year in which retirement occurs equal to the product of the following (the “Retirement Sick Leave Amount”): 1. The lesser of: i. total number of the retiring teacher’s accumulated, unused sick leave days or ii. ninety (90) days times 2. Eighty dollars ($80.00) per day. B. Up to two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) of the vested Retirement Sick Leave Amount shall be paid to the retiring teacher, less applicable withholdings, in the year of retirement. The excess of the Retirement Sick Leave Amount less the Retirement Increment of immediately preceding Subsection B, if any, shall be contributed to the 401(a) Plan. Notwithstanding, if the contribution of the excess amount would exceed applicable limitations of the Internal Revenue Code, the excess will then be contributed to a post-separation 403(b) plan up to the maximum applicable limitations of the Internal Revenue Code, and then distributed to the retired teacher, less applicable withholdings, as necessary.
ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. When a unit member is eligible to retire under the New York State Retirement Plan and has ten (10) or more years as a Contract Driver with the District, the following benefit will be made available, once an irrevocable letter of resignation for retirement is received. Written notification of intention to retire must be provided to the District no later than January 31 of the school year preceding the year of retirement. If written notification is received after January 31, the District has the right to postpone payment of the sick leave benefit until the subsequent school year. IrTthe event that the employee participates in the sick leave benefit but such contribution exceeds acceptable contribution limits, the employer agrees to pay any excess over the limits as a contribution in the subsequent calendar year. This article shall be subject to IRS regulations and rulings. Should any portion be declared contrary to law, then such portions shall not be deemed valid and subsisting, but all other portions shall continue in full force and effect. As to those portions declared contrary to law, the District and the Association shall meet promptly and alter those portions in order to provide the same or similar benefit which conform, as closest as possible, to the original intent of the parties. 2. Longevity Effective July 1, 2000, each Contract Bus Driver who has completed 10 years of service in the department will receive an annual longevity stipend of the amount indicated on the chart below payable in a separate paycheck. ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. The District will pay each employee, upon proof of retirement (benefits from Social Security or Maine Public Employees Retirement System), $30.00 per day for half (½) of his/her accumulated sick leave up to a maximum of thirty (30) days providing the unit member has at least fifteen (15) years of continuous employment in the District. The retirement payment provided in this Article is a benefit rewarding extended service to MSAD 11 and is not intended as an incentive to retirement. However, if, at any time, the MePERS deems the payments provided herein to be a retirement incentive, this Article shall immediately become null and void, and the parties shall negotiate concerning replacement language.

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Benefit Plan The Sick Leave Benefit Plan will provide sick leave days and short term disability days for reasons of personal illness, personal injury, including personal medical appointments and personal dental appointments.

  • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.
