Sick Leave Amount. Sick leave will accumulate at the rate of one (1) day per month worked except as herein provided. School year employees shall be credited with one-half (1/2) of their sick leave at the beginning of each semester or five (5) per semester and twelve (12) month employees will be credited with one-half (1/2) of their sick leave days July 1st and one-half (1/2) of their sick leave days on January 1st. Unused sick leave will accumulate up to a maximum of thirty-five (35) days, plus thirty-five (35) days of reserved sick leave.
Sick Leave Amount. (a) Each permanent employee, including 6, 9 and 10 month permanent employees, is entitled to sick leave with full pay on a basis of 1 day for each month where the employee is on paid status at least ½ of the working days of that month. Accumulation of such leave is unlimited.
(b) Non-permanent temporary and seasonal employees will accrue one (1) hour of sick time for every thirty (30) hours worked up to a maximum accrual of forty-eight (48) hours. Any unused, accrued paid sick leave will carry over year-to-year while the eligible employee is continuously employed with the District, up to the maximum accrual of forty- eight (48) hours. Any unused time under this provision is not paid out at the time of separation of employment and cannot be applied toward retirement service credit. However, temporary and seasonal employees who are re-hired or returning to work within twelve (12) months from the date of separation will have their accrued unused sick leave that was on the books at the time of separation, up to the maximum accrual, restored and made available for use.

Sick Leave Amount. (a) Full time Employees, who have completed probation, will receive seven and one half (7.5) hours sick leave credit for every two hundred and sixty two and a half (262.5) hours worked to a maximum of sixty (60) hours that may be carried over year to year.
(b) Part time Employees, who have completed probation, will receive seven and one half (7.5) hours sick leave credit for every two hundred and sixty two and a half (262.5) hours worked to a maximum of thirty (30) hours that may be carried over year to year.
(c) All unused sick leave credits will be lost in the event of termination of employment and will not be paid out.
(d) Sick leave is only payable in cases of absences due to bona fide sickness or non-occupational injury or specialist appointment with a medical provider licensed by the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons.
(e) Employees absent may be required to provide a Medical Certificate issued by a qualified medical practitioner should the employer suspect abuse of the sick leave language up to a maximum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
Sick Leave Amount. All eligible full-time bargaining unit employees shall earn fifteen (15) days of sick leave each year which days shall be credited to the employee on January 1st of each year. A record shall be maintained showing each employee’s accumulation of sick leave and the number of hours of sick leave used. The record shall be kept at the main office.

Maintenance Employees Each full-time (12 month) eight (8) hour per day maintenance employee shall be credited with 12 days of sick leave in advance for each twelve (12) months of employment. Sick leave hours credited shall be proportionately reduced based upon the employee's regularly scheduled number of work hours per day (i.e., Each day represents the number of hours you work per day.). Unused sick leave shall accumulate from year to year to a maximum of 120 days for an eight (8) hour per day employee, which accumulation shall be proportionately reduced based upon the employee's regularly scheduled number of work hours per day (i.e., Each day represents the number of hours you work per day.
Sick Leave Amount. Upon the completion of the initial probationary period or trial period, employees shall be credited with sick leave in accordance with the following schedule:
A. Custodial and Maintenance Employees Each full-time (12 month) eight (8) hour per day custodial and maintenance employee shall be credited with 96 hours of sick leave in advance for each twelve (12) months of employment. Sick leave hours credited shall be proportionately reduced based upon the employee's regularly scheduled number of work hours per day (i.e., 8 hours per day = 96 hours; 6 hours per day = 72 hours; 5 hours per day = 60 hours, etc.). Unused sick leave shall accumulate from year to year to a maximum of 960 hours for an eight (8) hour per day employee, which accumulation shall be proportionately reduced based upon the employee's regularly scheduled number of work hours per day (i.e., 8 hours per day = 960 hours; 6 hours per day = 720 hours; 5 hours per day = 600 hours). An employee shall only accumulate sick leave to his/her maximum allowable accumulation based upon then existing regularly scheduled work hours per day.
A. Transportation Employees Each regularly scheduled eight (8) hour per day transportation employee shall be credited with seventy-two (72) hours of sick leave in advance for each school year. Sick leave hours credited shall be proportionately reduced based upon the employee's regularly scheduled number of work hours per day (i.e., 8 hours per day = 72 hours; 6 hours per day = 54 hours; 5 hours per day = 45 hours, etc.) An employee who is scheduled to drive during a summer session shall receive one additional sick leave = 360 hours; 5 hours per day = 300 hours, etc.) An employee shall only accumulate sick leave to his/her maximum allowable accumulation based upon his/her then existing regularly scheduled work hours per day.
B. Lunch Monitors Upon the completion of the initial probationary period, employees shall be credited with one (l) hour of sick leave for each twenty (20) hours of compensation paid. Credits shall be at the employee's regular compensation rate and shall not include additional compensation for overtime, holidays or other premium pay.
