Additional Work Hours. 10.3.1 The parties recognise Employees may be required to work hours in addition to or outside the span of hours for his/her rostered shift (additional work hours) in order to meet operational requirements of the service or attend to emergency situations. 10.3.2 Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, first preference for the allocation of additional hours shall be to those Employees who make themselves available for voluntary extra hours which will be paid for at the casual rate of pay as prescribed in clause 8.4.2 of this Agreement. 10.3.3 Employees who wish to participate in this process will be required to elect to work such additional hours beyond those provided for on their rosters. 10.3.4 A sample election form for completion by Employees concerned is attached as Appendix No. 2 to this Agreement. Additional Work Hours. An officer may be required to work hours in addition to his/her rostered shift (additional work hours) in order to meet the operational requirements of the prison. These hours will be banked to the officers’ account and will be repaid by time off from a scheduled shift according to the following limitations: 6.2.1 No more than 12.5 hours will be accrued in any one (1) calendar week other than by mutual consent 6.2.2 No more than 50 hours in total will accrue to an officer at any one time other than by mutual consent 6.2.3 All time off should be taken in conjunction with rostered rest days other than by mutual agreement. 6.2.4 Time off in lieu must be taken within 16 calendar weeks of the additional hours being worked other than by mutual agreement. 6.2.5 The first 25 hours of accrued TOIL will be allowed to be taken as time off at the time of the officer’s choosing after consultation with the Unit Manager and subject to operational constraints. Any accrued TOIL over 25 hours may be repaid by changes to the roster prior to the roster being ‘posted’.
