Administrative Officer. In the event the employee believes his/her grievance has not been satisfactorily resolved, the grievance shall be submitted in writing to the Administrative Officer within seven (7) calendar days from the receipt of the Appointing Authority’s written response. A meeting of the parties may be held by mutual agreement. Within fourteen (14) calendar days from the receipt of the grievance, the Administrative Officer/designee shall deliver his/her written decision to the author of the grievance.

At level 1 positions may have the following features: First level positions develop and change in accordance with the experience and competence of individual employees. Administrative Officer. Administrative officers perform administrative tasks requiring initiative and responsibility. The minimum qualification required is advanced vocational training or equivalent.
Administrative Officer. Employees in this grade perform clerical and administrative duties using a more extensive range of skills and knowledge at a level higher than required in Grade 4. They are responsible and accountable for their own work, and may have limited responsibility for the work of others. They exercise initiative, discretion and judgement within the range of their skills and knowledge. Supervision is minimal. Employees shall be graded at this level where the principal functions of their employment, as determined by GSL, requires the exercise of any one or more of the skill levels numbered set out below.

If either the Association or the Administrative Officer desires to have a meeting to discuss the grievance, such party shall notify the other party and a meeting shall be held within fifteen (15) working days of the Association submitting the grievance to the Administrative Officer. The Administrative Officer will submit a written response to the grievant, copied to the Association/Nurse Representative, Division Director, and Human Resource Manager within 10 working days after the conclusion of the scheduled meeting. In the event the Association and the Administrative Officer agree that no meeting shall be held, the Administrative Officer will submit a written response to the grievant, copied to the Association/Nurse Representative within 20 days of receipt at step 3 of the grievance.
