Compassionate/ Special Leave. An employee may apply for paid leave to attend an unplanned or unexpected personal or family situations that require immediate attention, including bereavements as per the Fair Work Act. Casual staff are entitled to unpaid compassionate/special leave. Paid Compassionate/special leave will be granted for up to 3 days per occasion that a member of the employee's immediate family or household is ill with a life-threatening illness or upon death of an employee’s immediate family or household. To claim compassionate/special leave an employee will, as soon as reasonably practicable, advise CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn of her/his inability to attend work and the estimated duration of absence. The employee may, on return to work, be requested to provide satisfactory evidence to verify the leave application. Additional compassionate/special leave without pay may also be granted in consultation with the delegated officer, as per the Fair Work Act.

Compassionate/ Special Leave. A Teacher may be granted a leave of absence for compassionate/special leave to a maximum of two (2) days per occasion at the discretion of the Director or designate without loss of pay or deduction from sick leave. In addition, up to an additional 2 days may be granted, at the Director or designate’s discretion, where extensive travel time is required on the part of the Teacher. If the Director or designate is not available, the Teacher shall notify his/her immediate supervisor of the reasons for his/her absence. Where the Teacher’s immediate supervisor is not available, the Teacher, in these circumstances, must make all reasonable efforts to inform another Teacher or school official of his or her pending absence. Upon return the employee shall notify the Director or designate of the reasons for the absence and the Director or designate shall determine if compassionate/special leave is to be granted. Each year, the Director shall meet with the Association president to review the criteria used for granting leave under this clause.

The Member shall request such leave in writing to the Unit Head with sufficient particulars so as to enable the Unit Head to make a proper assessment of the request for leave.

  • Compassionate Leave (a) An employee is entitled to 2 days of compassionate leave for each occasion when a member of the employee's immediate family, or a member of the employee's household:

  • Compassionate Care Leave (a) Compassionate care leave will be granted to an employee for up to eight (8) weeks within a twenty-six (26) week period to provide care or support to a family member who is at risk of dying within that 26-week period in accordance with section 49.1 of the Employment Standards Act, 2000.

  • Taking compassionate leave (a) An employee may take compassionate leave for a particular permissible occasion if the leave is taken:

  • Bereavement/Compassionate Leave 21.1 Employees (excluding casual employees) shall be entitled to a maximum of two days without loss of pay on each occasion and on production of satisfactory evidence of the death or near death in Australia of the employee’s partner, father, mother, brother, sister, child, stepchild or parents-in-law.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.

  • BOOTH DISPLAY a) The Exhibitor agrees to (i) obey all laws,by-laws,ordinances and regulations governing use of the facility and operation of the Show, (ii) abide by the rules and regulations of the city, fire and police departments and of any other government or regulatory body having authority to regulate the facility and the Show, and (iii) obey all laws,including those pertaining to health and safety, consumer protection and protection of visitors to the Show.

  • Cultural Leave Where such leave is approved by the employer, teachers participating in recognised cultural activities within New Zealand or outside New Zealand are entitled to leave with pay on the same conditions as for sports leave.

  • Funeral and Bereavement Leave 19.01 In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time for attending the funeral. The length of absence shall be up to three (3) days at the discretion of the Employer. The term ‘immediate family’ shall mean: spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, step-mother, step-father, step-son, step-daughter, step-brother, step-sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, and grandchildren, or any relative living in the household of the employee. In the event of the demise of an aunt or uncle, nephew or niece, an employee will be granted one (1) day leave of absence with pay to attend the funeral. In the case of death of spouse, father, mother, child, step-parent or step-child, the employee shall be entitled to, up to one (1) weeks leave of absence with pay.

  • Intermittent Leave If medically necessary due to the serious medical condition of the employee, or that of the employee's spouse, child, parent, registered domestic partner within the meaning of Minneapolis Code of Ordinances Chapter 142, or other dependents and/or members of their households who have a serious medical condition, leave may be taken on an intermittent schedule. In cases of the birth, adoption or xxxxxx placement of a child, family and medical leave may be taken intermittently only when expressly approved by the Employer.
