Dual Credit. To enroll and obtain college credit in a dual credit course at KCTCS, a student must:  Be a Kentucky high school student (public, private, or homeschooled). Exceptions may be considered for other students if recommended by the school faculty/counselor and approved by the Chief Academic Officer at the college.  Complete the postsecondary institution’s application for admission.  Meet the KCTCS Assessment & Placement Policy for dual credit high school students ( 4.13 Appendix I)  Be admitted to the participating postsecondary institution as a dual credit student.  Enroll in one or more eligible dual credit course/s.

Dual Credit. (College Credit Plus) 1. The opportunity to teach any course offered by the school district through Dual Credit (College Credit Plus) shall be offered to all members of the bargaining unit who are qualified to teach the course. Teaching a course that qualifies for Dual Credit (CCP) shall be mutually agreed upon by the part of teacher and no teaching employee shall be forced to meet the requirements to teach the course. Furthermore, no outside employees shall be solicited unless there is no other option for a student to take that course. 2. No existing bargaining unit position shall be eliminated, and no bargaining unit employee shall be displaced, as a result of the District’s participation in Dual Credit (CCP). If multiple teachers are certified to teach the same CCP classes and want to teach the same course, they will be assigned to teach that course on a rotating basis beginning with the most senior teacher. 3. Teachers of Dual Credit (CCP) courses shall be afforded release time, as needed, to attend quality workshops and conferences related to Dual Credit (CCP). Additionally, Dual Credit (CCP) teachers will be paid at their per diem rate for any Orientation days/meetings required by the host college and/or college mentor which falls outside of the teacher’s contract day and/or school year. Teachers must follow established procedures and use established district forms for reimbursement. 4. A teacher who teachers Dual Credit (CCP) classes is eligible to receive up to twenty- five hours of extended time per year at their per diem rate for duties related to those CCP classes which exceed the amount of time they would normally spend on a class that is not a CCP class. The extended time spent for CCP classes must be documented on a timesheet with a brief description of the work done during the extended time that differentiates between the work required for a CCP class and a typical high school class. They may also be afforded time without students during the normal school day at times during the year that require extensive grading of compositions or other like duties that are not within the scope of their normal duties. Such time should be coordinated with the building Principal who will provide supervision for students during the normal school day. 5. Any evaluation done by the Higher Education Institution of a bargaining unit member teaching a Dual Credit (CCP) class will not impact the teacher’s OTES evaluation cycle.
Dual Credit. 1. The teacher of record shall be a qualified bargaining unit member, one per core academic subject. Assignment as a teacher of record, shall be on a voluntary basis and shall be posted according to this contract. If no qualified bargaining unit member volunteers to perform as teacher of record, the Superintendent may assign the work to a qualified bargaining unit member. This shall be done on a rotation basis of seniority providing the teacher has been successful in this dual credit assignment. 2. Teachers of record shall be compensated per diem up to twenty (20) hours of work outside the workday for a course worth one (1) high school credit. This compensation shall be prorated for any course worth more or less than one (1) high school credit. Any work done on conference/planning time shall be compensated according to this contract. A teacher will provide timesheets describing work outside the school day to the Treasurer to be paid at year end. 3. Mileage shall be paid in accordance with Article 9, Paragraph F, “Board Paid Mileage.”
Dual Credit. No class(es) will be taught to students of the Heyworth CUSD #4 by Heartland Community College during the regular school day in a Heyworth school building if the teaching of the class(es) result in a reduction of salary of a bargaining unit member. Exceptions may be made to this contractual item with mutual agreement of the parties.

Dual Credit. A system under which an eligible high school student enrolls in college course(s) and receives credit for the course(s) from both the college and the high school. While dual credit courses are often taught on the secondary school campus to high school students only, applicable sections of these rules, §4.84(a) and §4.85(a), (b), (g), (h), (i) of this title (relating to Dual Credit Partnerships), apply irrespective of location or mode of delivery. Dual credit is also referred to as concurrent course credit; the terms are equivalent. This differs from how the term “concurrent enrollment” is used (see below). Dual Enrollment – (previously referred to as dual or concurrent enrollment)--Refers to a system under which a student is enrolled in more than one educational institution (including a high school and a public institution of higher education). When a student in a dual enrollment system enrolls in courses that student earns appropriate course credit from each distinct educational institution that offered the course. Dual enrollment is not equivalent to dual credit. Articulated College Credit – Credit earned through a high school-level course that fulfills specific requirements of an identified college-level course and provides a pathway for high school students to earn credit toward a technical certificate or technical degree at a partnering institution of higher education. A course that is part of an Articulation Agreement between an ISD and TC. Credit is awarded after high school graduation, and after the student enrolls at TC and successfully completes six (6) hours of college credit further meeting all requirements of the Articulation Agreement.
Dual Credit. A teacher who applies to teach college-level courses for dual credit must meet the same academic credential requirements as faculty employed by that college and must be selected and appointed as an adjunct instructor by the college according to the college’s criteria for instructors. Any dual credit course teaching option will be posted annually pursuant to section 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 of this agreement. The dual credit course must meet both High School graduation requirements and college course credit requirements. In addition, the dual credit course, curriculum and text, and teacher must be approved by both the college and the Superintendent or his designee. If there are no qualified Olympia teachers on staff, any instructor will be hired by the District. A full-time teacher interested in teaching college-level courses for dual credit will receive compensation for additional planning, preparation, and reporting which is above and beyond traditional high school course coursework. The full-time teacher will be compensated at the rate of fifty percent (50%) of the gross payment received by the School District for completing the dual credit course. Any dual credit teacher co-teaching with a college-level instructor will not be eligible for compensation under this article. Any dual credit teacher receiving compensation from the college or university for teaching the dual credit course, will not be eligible for compensation under this article.
