Education/Training. (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instructions, and is informed by his/her supervisor of any safety hazards known to the Supervisor and is provided with any necessary safety equipment. Moreover, it is incumbent upon employees to report to their supervisors safety hazards known to them and the Employer will investigate the situation and take appropriate action.
Education/Training. The school community will be educated about potential pest problems and IPM methods used to achieve the pest management objectives. The IPM Coordinator, other school staff and pesticide applicators involved with implementation of the school IPM policy will be trained in appropriate components of IPM as it pertains to the school environment. Students, parents/guardians have access to information on this policy.
Education/Training. The District encourages employees to improve their skills and knowledge. Consistent with the District’s Personnel Policy Guide, Harbor Manager may approve education and training opportunities for Manager and reimburse Manager for “tuition, books, lab fees, and other mandatory fees levied by the educational institution”.
Education/Training. 15.01 – EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING SESSIONS For the purposes of education and increasing professionalism the Director may schedule and conduct in-service training seminars and assign personnel to attend such training. Additionally the Employer shall provide specialize training for trainees within their probationary period in order to provide good service and obtain necessary certifications. Any employee who attends a job-related educational or training workshop, session, seminar, conference or school at the direction of or with the prior approval of SECC shall not lose any pay or benefits to the extent that such attendance is during his/her normally scheduled hours of work. Overtime shall be paid in accordance with the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act. The employee will be eligible for reimbursement for any expenses related to the training as provided by in the County travel policy. An Employee shall not be required to attend any training session scheduled during his/her annual vacation. For training paid for by the Employer, the employee shall continue to receive the employee’s regular pay. Hours worked for travel time shall be calculated pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act. All available training shall be posted. The Quality Control/Training Manager shall identify any prerequisites, restrictions and travel arrangements. No travel time shall be paid for training which is held within Scott County.
Education/Training. A. EDUCATION CREDITS A program shall be established by the Board for all unit members covered under this Agreement to encourage and further their education. The Board shall reimburse any unit member up to two thousand five hundred and twenty dollars ($2,520) per fiscal year for courses that are pre-approved by Human Resources as courses that align with the curriculum or are needed by the unit member to maintain their current licensure and/or certification; or to obtain licensure or certification needed to enhance job skills that are directly related to their current position; or to maintain or obtain job skills directly related to their current position. Reimbursement shall be paid in the fiscal year in which the credits are earned provided a grade of “B” or better or “Pass” is received.
Education/Training. The Employer and the Union share a desire to retain a workforce skilled in job related duties. To the extent possible, the Employer will make available to members of the bargaining unit current information about available employer approved training opportunities. Job-related training for employees may be conducted both during and outside of an employee’s work schedule. When an employee’s attendance is required by the Employer, the employee shall be paid for the time at regular pay. The Employer may offer in-house training for employees to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. The Employer shall conduct or arrange for training in emergency procedures and for safety training on all new products and equipment. The Employer shall conduct or arrange orientation and training for all affected employees on new equipment, products, and procedures.

Education/Training. The parties recognize the importance of continuing employee educational development opportunities and the requirement for employees to obtain and maintain certification for C.P.R., N.C.I., and First Aid. The Employer agrees to pay the cost of tuition for courses and seminars or provide all necessary training materials and pay the cost of the trainer, which the Employer requires the employee to attend. Should the employee not successfully complete the required course or seminar the employee shall reimburse the employer the cost of the tuition fee. In addition, an employee attending the course or seminar during his normal scheduled hours of work shall be compensated at his regular straight time hourly rate for the time lost from work while in attendance at the scheduled hours of the course or seminar. To Index An employee attending the course or seminar outside his normal scheduled hours of work shall be granted compensating time off equal to the scheduled hours of the course or seminar.

Workshops/Seminars The College recognizes that participation in short-term institutes, workshops, and seminars which relate specifically to the function of the position of an employee must have a mutual value to the employee and the College. A staff development fund is available for this purpose.
