Education Credits. Education Credits are sold on an Annual Subscription basis and are “purchase cards” that organizations can apply to other training, including a la carte courseware for individuals and onsite customer training for groups. Education Credits may not be applied to the purchase of Education Pass subscriptions.

Education Credits. 1. Pre-authorization is not required when attending state approved workshops or conferences when credits/clock hours are provided. 2. Evidence of completed credits (in the form of official college transcripts) and clock hours will be filed with the District’s personnel office no later than October 1. If, for some circumstance beyond the control of the employee, the college transcripts are not available, and the District has been advised by the college of the credit, the employee shall be granted the allowance for credit. Official transcripts must be filed as soon as they become available. Evidence submitted and approved after the start of the school year, but by October 1 will be retroactive to the beginning of the school year.

Credit for courses taken at community colleges shall be granted if in conformity with SPI regulations relating to state allocations. 1. Education credits may be given for non-college educational activities voluntarily entered into by an employee for the purpose of strengthening his/her competencies.
Education Credits. Rules regarding education credits for placement on the Salary Schedule will be those used by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction for placement on the State Salary Schedule. Certificates, college transcripts, and required letters of substantiation from authorities involved must reach the District's Human Resources Office by October 15 to be applied to salary placement for the year, unless the employee's contract becomes effective after the first day of school, in which case the necessary documents shall reach the District's Human Resources Office within forty-five (45) days of the issue date of the contract.

The District will accept salary adjustments under the SPI weighting formula interpretation as follows: All employees hired as of October 20, 1976 will be granted current educational credits as to placement on the salary schedule. For credits earned before September 1, 1995: Education credits will be given for salary advancement for college course work which meets at least one (1) of the following criteria: a. It is necessary to maintain or renew current certification; b. It is applicable for obtaining fifth year certification; c. It applies toward advanced education degree programs, or advanced subject matter degree programs, having a relationship to the employee's current assignment; e. It would demonstrably relate to an individual's future professional plans in education in the common schools; f. It demonstrably relates to improving or updating an individual's competencies (skills, knowledge, or understanding) so as to enable the employee to perform current educational duties more effectively. 2. For credits earned after September 1, 1995, the content of the course must meet at least one of the following: a. It is consistent with a school-based plan for mastery of student learning goals as referenced in the annual school performance report of the school in which the individual is assigned. b. It pertains to the individual’s current assignment or expected assignment for the following school year. c. It is necessary for obtaining an endorsement as prescribed by the State Board of Education. d. It is specifically required for obtaining advanced levels of certification. e. It is included in a college or university degree program that pertains to the individual’s current assignment or potential future assignment as a certificated instructional staff. 3. When an employee believes he/she is eligible for an education increment, the employee will complete “The Approval of College and Clock Hour Credits for Salary Placement” form and submit it to the Human Resources Department, along with an official transcript or clock hour form, before any credits or clock hours earned after September 1, 1995, may be acce...

Education Credits. In the event that more than one individual employee has the same seniority ranking after applying the above provisions, all employees so affected shall participate in a drawing, by lot, to determine position on the seniority list. The Association and all employees so affected shall be notified in writing of the date, place and time of the drawing. The drawing shall be conducted openly and at a time and place which will allow affected employees and the Association to be in attendance.

If in the judgment of the superintendent the course work as defined above is not substantially relevant, the credit for advancement shall be denied. Denial of acceptance of credit for salary advancement shall be subject to the grievance procedure set forth in this Agreement. B. Credit for education experience shall be given automatically when evidence of such credit is filed with the District. Such evidence should be in the form of official college transcripts or grade reports and shall be filed with the District's business office no later than October 1. If, for some circumstance beyond the control of the teacher, the college transcripts or grade reports are not available and the District has been advised in writing by the college prior to October 1, of the credits, the teacher shall be granted the allowance for credit. The District will circulate, to the staff, notices of available, accredited college courses throughout the year to be held in this District or in surrounding districts, when provided to the District by the colleges. C. Inservice education credits shall be given automatically for board-approved educational activities voluntarily entered into by a teacher for the purpose of strengthening his/her competencies, in accordance with the following: 1.
