The negotiat- ing committee shall not exceed two (2) part-time employ- ees. Requests for personal leave of absence of three (3) working days or less shall be made verbally to the Store Manager. Store management will advise the employee if the leave of absence is granted or denied. Requests for personal leave of absence for more than three (3) working days shall be made in writing to the Store Manager by the employee concerned and the letter shall indicate in full their reasons for requesting the of ab- sence. The granting or denying of the request shall be made in writing to the employee concerned within two (2) of receipt of the request. BEREAVEMENT PAY When a death occurs in the immediate family (as below) a part-time employee shall receive time off work with pay for an absence from scheduled work, on the day before and the day of the funeral, and be paid at the em- ployee’s regular hourly rate of pay calculated at the number of hours ...

  • Notification to Employee and Union Within seven (7) calendar days of the date of appointment to a vacant position within the bargaining unit, the name of the successful applicant shall be posted. The Union shall be notified of all appointments. The Employer agrees, at the request of unsuccessful applicants, to discuss reasons for not being promoted and areas where the employee can improve opportunities for advancement.

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION SHALL ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES The Employer agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. The Employer agrees to provide the name, worksite phone number, and location of the new employee's xxxxxxx in the letter of hiring.   • EMPLOYMENT POLICY AND UNION MEMBERSHIP 5.01 The Union and the Employer will cooperate in maintaining a desirable and competent labour force. The Employer will notify the Union of labour requirements, giving as much prior notice as possible. The Union will provide a list of labour available.
