EQUAL DISTRIBUTION. (a) Prearranged and emergency overtime work shall be distributed among employees within a department, classification and headquarters as equally as practicable. The Company will post the overtime worked or credited as worked for each person for that week. The method for practicable equalization of prearranged and emergency overtime should be developed at each location by agreement between Company and Union. Such procedure should be in writing and signed by both parties. Whether procedures are developed or not, it is incumbent on Company to comply with the provisions of this Subsection concerning equal distribution. Where an imbalance cannot be justified, paying the aggrieved employee(s) is an appropriate remedy after the end of the accounting period, although this does not preclude other local agreements. (Amended 1-1-11) (b) An employee who is scheduled to be off on vacation shall not be scheduled for work under this Section for the period between the end of the employee's last regular day of work preceding the employee's vacation and the start of the employee's first regular day of work following the vacation. An employee who is off due to illness or injury shall not be scheduled for work under this Section until the employee returns to work on a regular workday.

EQUAL DISTRIBUTION. Management shall endeavor to distribute call-in overtime among all employees on a non-preferential and equal basis, except in case of emergency or when a particular employee or group of employees with special skills, knowledge, or qualifications is needed. The Engineer shall establish two (2) rotating lists - one for the sign crew and one for all other employees beginning with the most senior person. Management shall request the employees whose name appears first on the list to work overtime when overtime is available. When an employee is unable to work the overtime, the employee shall not be offered overtime until his name again appears at the top on the appropriate list. An employee that is not call in the proper order shall be offered a replacement opportunity as soon thereafter as possible, based upon the employee's ability to perform the work. Management may, based upon the needs of the emergency, call in the employee highest on the list having the required skills. Call-ins as used in this section shall have the same meaning as in Section 4 as above.
EQUAL DISTRIBUTION. The Employer agrees to equally distribute overtime opportunities among qualified employees in each classification by offering all departmental overtime on a rotative basis. The Employer shall post requests for overtime opportunities as soon as practicable following receipt by the Sheriff’s Office.

EQUAL DISTRIBUTION. When scheduling overtime and/or compensatory time, the parties agree that overtime and/or compensatory time will be distributed equally among all Employees within the trade or occupation within an organizational element. An overtime and/or compensatory time roster will be the primary method used to insure equitable distribution of overtime and/or compensatory time. a. Employees assigned to work overtime and/or compensatory time must be qualified as determined by the Employer to perform the overtime work in an efficient and expeditious manner. For the purpose of this Section, organizational element is defined as the lowest organizational component. b. It is recognized that certain factors such as leave, the need for continuity on jobs of short duration, the need for specific skills, Employee health limitations, etc., may cause a temporary imbalance in the distribution of overtime. Also, extended sick leave usage or long periods of leave without pay can cause a permanent imbalance in the overtime and/or compensatory time distribution. However, nothing in this Section shall be construed as alleviating the responsibility of the Employer to distribute overtime fairly and equitably over a 12-month period. c. This Section does not apply to Employees assigned to emergency situations requiring immediate action; however, the Employer will avoid the continuous use of a single Employee in emergency situations, when other equally qualified Employees are available who can react in sufficient time to aid in resolution of the emergency.
