FLEXIBLE WORK PATTERNS. The parties agree that flexible work arrangements can provide mutual advantages As such it is agreed that a full time Employee shall be able to negotiate working arrangements that aggregate 160 hours in a four week cycle. Options available include: ▪ A regular work pattern of 40 hours site work per week where the penalty rate for two hours overtime shall be averaged over the forty hours worked in lieu of a rostered day off. ▪ A regular work pattern of forty hours of site work a week with two hours banked for a rostered day off at ordinary time. Such arrangements shall be negotiated on an annual basis having regard to operational requirements, work standards, and the continued provision of high quality customer service No Employee is to accrue more than forty hours of rostered time off. Parties agree that the company can direct an Employee to take the next day off work if the maximum accrual has been reached. Parties agree to make every effort to give each other one week’s notice of intention to take rostered time off work. Employees wanting to negotiate flexible working patterns should approach the relevant manager and demonstrate how adopting a flexible working arrangement will allow the company to meet operational and customer service demands If the manager is satisfied that there are mutual benefits from the proposed flexible working pattern a recommendation is to be made to the Managing Director for approval before implementation The Company reserves the right to withdraw approval for flexible working patterns that are not meeting the Employer benefits expected at the time of approval. Any such revocation will require one week’s notice.
FLEXIBLE WORK PATTERNS. At the written request of an Employee, the Employer may agree to temporarily change the pattern of working hours of the Employee on the following terms: • The Employer cannot be compelled to agree to such request; • The arrangement must not change or affect any other Employee's number or pattern of working hours unless by mutual agreement between the Employees concerned; • For operational reasons, the Employer may require the Employee to revert to the original work pattern.
FLEXIBLE WORK PATTERNS. (a) The parties recognise there is a requirement for the Company to have the capability to respond to seasonality in customer demand through the adoption of flexible work patterns.
(b) It is agreed that any flexible work patterns should meet the following objectives: • Enable a quick response with minimal disruption to normal operating practices. • Ensure the quality of Company product is maintained. • Minimise the need to transfer employees from one operating area to another. • Provide an opportunity for employees to earn additional income.
(c) In the context of these objectives the Scheduling Committee may elect to implement the following work pattern in operations where it makes business sense and does not result in a deterioration in efficiency of the operation’s performance. The operation of this pattern will not influence the levels of employment required for ordinary hours of work.
(d) Following a minimum of one (1) week's notice, providing there has been no down time in the preceding two (2) months the Company has the ability to convert the existing forty five (45) minutes unpaid lunch break to a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch break enabling up to fifteen (15) minutes work at the appropriate overtime rate (ie.1.5 the ordinary rate of pay).
(e) This practice will be linked to market demand for the Company’s product. It is accepted that during the period in which this practice is in operation there will be no production down days.
(f) It is the Company’s intention to only institute this flexible practice in response to market conditions and not on a permanent basis. The removal of the practice will be preceded by one (1) week's notice. In the two (2) month period following the cessation of this operating pattern there will be no down days.
(g) In operating locations where the lunch break is presently thirty (30) minutes, other options will be addressed by the parties as appropriate.
