FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. To attain the spirit of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the functions of the Joint Committee shall be:
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. The Joint Committee shall have the following functions, inter alia:
a) to ensure the proper functioning and implementation of this Agreement, its Annexes and additional Protocols, and continuation of the dialogue between the Parties;
b) to consider examine, and approve any modifications and amendments to this Agreement, its Annexes and additional Protocols;
c) to amend Annex IV.1 (Code of Conduct for Arbitrators of the Arbitration Tribunal) and Annex IV.2 (Rules of Procedure);
d) to examine the process of trade liberalization established under this Agreement, its Annexes and additional Protocols, including inter alia studying the development of trade between the Parties, reviewing the categorization of goods in Article 11 of this Chapter, assessing the need for changes in the rules of origin, and recommending further steps for cooperation in the fields of trade in services, investment promotion and other areas not covered by the Agreement;
e) to perform other functions that may arise from the implementation of the provisions of this Agreement, its Annexes and any additional Protocols;
f) to establish mechanisms to encourage the active participation of the private sectors in areas covered by this Agreement between the Parties; and,
g) to exchange opinions and make suggestions on any issue of mutual interest relating to areas covered by this Agreement, including future actions.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 2.1 The Committee shall not have the power to add to or in any way modify the terms of this Agreement but shall function in an advisory capacity to the Parties with the general aim of ensuring that this Agreement is administered in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
2.2 The Committee may, within the lifetime of this Agreement, recommend to the Parties amendments to the wording hereof to remove ambiguities and to ensure that the intentions of the Parties are carried into effect. Such recommendations may be rejected by either Party within 15 days.
2.3 Notwithstanding clause 2.1, the Joint Committee may authorize procedures in order to achieve ends which are within the terms and spirit of this Agreement. Such authorization may be rejected by either Party within 15 days.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 3.1 To attain the spirit of The Act, the functions of the Joint Committee shall be:
(a) to identify, evaluate and recommend a resolution of all matters pertaining to health and safety in the YusApuY workplace to appropriate Area Health and Safety Officer or department manager or senior management;
(b) to recommend adequate education and training programs in order that Employees are knowledgeable of their rights, restrictions, responsibilities and duties under The Act;
(c) to address matters related to The Act and attendant Regulations (for example: Designated Substances and WHMIS) and to receive reports or portions of reports that relate to health and safety;
(d) to deal with any health and safety matter that the Joint Committee deems appropriate;
(e) to provide input in the design and implementation of HSEWB-initiated training programs related to health and safety issues.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. The Joint Committee shall:
(a) consider any matter relating to the implementation or operation of this Agreement, including the establishment of subsidiary bodies and the terms of accession;
(b) consider any proposal to amend or modify this Agreement;
(c) consider ways to further enhance digital economy partnership between the Parties;
(d) develop arrangements for implementing this Agreement;14
(e) establish the Rules of Procedure referred to in Module 14 (Dispute Settlement), and, where appropriate, amend those rules; and
(f) take any other action as the Parties may agree.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 1. The Joint Committee shall administer this Agreement and shall ensure its proper implementation.
2. The Joint Committee may decide to adopt a new Annex or to amend an existing Annex to this Agreement.
3. The Joint Committee shall discuss amendments to the Articles of this Agreement proposed by one of the Parties. If the Joint Committee agrees to the proposal, it shall submit the proposal to the Parties for adoption according to their respective internal procedures.
4. Upon a request made pursuant to Article 10(3), the Joint Committee shall hold an exchange of views on the proposed legislation, in particular on whether it would result in the respective Party's ETS no longer meeting the criteria set out in the Annexes.
5. Upon suspension of, or prior to the notification of termination of this Agreement in accordance with Articles 15 and 16, the Joint Committee shall hold an exchange of views and shall aim to find agreement to end the suspension or prevent the termination.
6. The Joint Committee shall aim to settle disputes referred to it by the Parties in line with Article 14.
7. The Joint Committee shall conduct periodic reviews of this Agreement in light of any major developments in either ETS, including on market oversight or the commencement of a new trading period, in order to ensure in particular that the linking is not under- mining either Party's domestic emissions reductions targets or the integrity and orderly functioning of their carbon markets.
8. The functions of the Joint Committee shall be limited to those set out in this Agreement.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 1. The Joint Committee shall have the following functions:
a) considering any matter related to the implementation and operation of this Agreement;
b) supervising the work of all committees and other bodies established under this Agreement;
c) considering ways to further enhance trade relations between the Parties;
d) considering and recommending to the Parties any amendment to this Agreement; and
e) taking other actions on any matter covered by this Agreement as the Parties may agree.
2. In the fulfilment of its functions, the Joint Committee may establish subsidiary bodies, including ad hoc bodies, and assign them with tasks on specific matters. The Joint Committee may, if necessary, decide to seek advice of third persons or groups.
3. Unless the Parties agree otherwise, the Joint Committee shall convene:
a) in regular session every year, with such sessions to be held alternately in the territories of the Parties; and
b) in special session within 30 days of the request of a Party, with such sessions to be held in the territory of the other Party or at such location as the Parties may agree.
4. The Joint Committee shall meet within 30 days of a Party giving an advance notice in accordance with Article 15.3 of this Agreement in order to discuss the implications of that action for the Parties and for any arrangement made under this Agreement.
5. All decisions of the Joint Committee, committees and other bodies established under this Agreement shall be taken by consensus of the Parties.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 1. The Joint Committee shall be responsible for the administration of this Agreement and shall ensure its proper implementation.
2. The Joint Committee shall: (a) supervise and facilitate the operation of this Agreement and the correct application of its provisions, and consider other ways to attain its general objectives;
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 3.1 The Parties empower the Joint Committee, subject to the Budgets approved in accordance with Section 8, to exercise the Role and discharge the Functions, on their behalf, for the geographical County area of Staffordshire in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Acts 1972 and 1992, the Local Government (Records) Xxx 0000, the Public Records Acts 1958 and 1967, the Manorial Document Rules 1959, the Tithe Rules 1960, the Parochial Registers and Records Measures 1978 as amended by the Church of England (Miscellaneous Provisions) Measure 1992 and the provisions of the Standard For Record Repositories 2004.
3.2 The Functions of the Joint Committee shall be as follows:
(a) to administer the Staffordshire Record Office, the Lichfield History Access Point, Xxxxxx-upon- Xxxxx Family and Local History Centre) and the Stoke-on-Trent City Archives.
(b) to make recommendations to the Parties on revenue and capital estimates for the Joint Committee;
(c) to determine policies for and the standards of the Joint Service in accordance with the appropriate national and international standards for archives and any revision thereof;
(d) to monitor the performance of the Joint Service by means of an annual report to the Parties and by any other reports as may be required or requested by the respective scrutiny processes of either the County Council or the City Council;
(e) to determine the Collecting Policy and to receive reports about collecting;
(f) to acquire other documents by loan, gift or purchase within the Collecting Policy;
(g) to promote use of primary source material and to facilitate joint development and make the best use of resources through co-ordinated activity;
(h) to promote and develop such specialised technical and professional services as may be necessary in the cost effective provision of the Archive Service (including, without limitation, conservation, micro-filming, information technology and publications);
(i) to promote the Archive Service through the Public Services;
(j) subject to paragraph 5.1, to employ in the Joint Service such staff on such service conditions as the Joint Committee may determine as will facilitate the most efficient and effective delivery of the Archive Service;
(k) to undertake any related activities which the Joint Committee deem to be of benefit to archives in the administrative areas of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
3.3 The Parties empower the Joint Committee to arrange the discharge of the Functions or...
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE. 1. For the efficient implementation of this Agreement, the Joint Committee shall have the following functions:
(a) reviewing the general functioning of this Agreement;
(b) setting up sub-committees as it considers necessary for accomplishing its tasks, and supervising the work of these sub-committees;
(c) reviewing, considering and, as appropriate, deciding on specific matters related to the operation and implementation of this Agreement, including matters reported by sub-committees;
(d) facilitating, as appropriate, the avoidance and settlement of disputes arising under this Agreement;
(e) as appropriate, providing interpretations of this Agreement;
(f) reviewing the possibility of further removal of the obstacles to trade between the Parties and further development of the trade relationship; and
(g) exploring ways to enhance trade between the Parties and to further the objectives of this Agreement.
2. The Joint Committee may take decisions in the matters related to this Agreement, including decisions to adopt any amendment to this Agreement. The Joint Committee may also make recommendations to matters related to this Agreement. The Joint Committee shall take decisions and make recommendations by consensus.
3. The decisions taken by the Joint Committee on any amendment to this Agreement shall be subject to the completion of the respective internal ratification procedures of each Party in accordance with Article IV.5 (Amendments).
