Leave of Absence for Full. Part-time Union Duties An Employee who is selected for a full/part-time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay or benefits but without loss of seniority for a period of up to two (2) years provided that if such leave of absence extends beyond one (1) month the Employer will maintain benefits where there is an agreement from the Union to reimburse the Employer for premiums and provided further that a written request for such leave is made with as much notice as is reasonably practical.

Leave of Absence for Full time Union or Public Duties 7.4,1 The Employer recognizes the right of an employee to participate in public affairs. The employee so selected shall give thirty (30) days written notice. The employee shall be allowed to continue with all of the benefit plans of this Agreement, and she/he shall pay the full premium of these plans. Further leave shall be granted by mutual agreement. An employee returning from such leave shall be entitled to return to work. 7.4,3 Upon written thirty (30) calendar days request an employee who is elected or appointed for a full-time position to the Union, or any body with which the Union is affiliated, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for up to one (1) year, subject to extension by mutual agreement. All of the benefit plans of this Agreement shall be afforded to the employee during this leave, provided she/he assumes payment of the full premium of these plans. 7.4,4 Notice of intention to return, or to renew, shall be given by the employee at least sixty (60) calendar days in advance of the expire of leave.

  • Paid Leave of Absence Upon request an employee shall be granted a leave of absence with pay for:

  • ARTICLE LEAVE OF ABSENCE The Employer, may, in its discretion, grant a leave of absence with or without pay to any employee for education personal reasons. Leave of absence due to pregnancy and/or parental leave shall be granted in accordance with the requirements of the Standards Act of Ontario If an employee who has completed his probationary period is required to serve as a juror, he shall not lose his regular pay because of such attendance provided he notifies his supervisor immediately upon notification that he will be required to serve as a juror, presents proof of service and promptly pays to the Employer any amounts paid to him for such service. Employees absent from work for any continuous period of fifteen (15) calendar days or more other than a period of vacation leave or paid sick leave shall not earn vacation or sick leave credits during the period of any such absence and anniversary dates shall be adjusted accordingly except as specified in Article In addition, the Employer shall not be required to contribute to the payment of health and welfare benefits during any such absence. Employees who desire to maintain health and welfare benefits through the Employer must arrange payments of premiums for all such benefits and pay all such premiums through the Employer before commencing any absence. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, it is agreed that the Employer shall maintain health and welfare benefits for employees who are off work on Long Term Disability or Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Benefits for a period of up to one (1) year from the date such employee ceased working for the Employer provided the employee pays his portion of the health and welfare benefits premium. An employee shall be entitled to paternity leave which shall consist of one (1)day with pay and two (2) days without pay.

  • Leave of Absence Without Pay A permanent employee may be granted unpaid leave either with the right to return or without the right to return. Exception: No paid leave of any kind will be granted an employee who is on suspension as discipline.

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits.
