Leave of absence for union purposes. The employer will grant a leave of absence to an eligible employee to attend union functions provided that such leave does not interfere with the efficient operational requirements. However, provided the employer receives two (2) weeks' notice from the union, this leave may be extended to four (4) employees per local, provided said leave will not affect operations. The decision will be made at the discretion of the employer, and such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Employer will grant a leave of absence without pay or benefits (other than pension) to an eligible employee to serve in a full-time elected or appointed position with the National or a Local Union. Such leave shall be requested by the Union, in writing, with as much advance notice as possible, shall be for a period of up to three (3) years, and may be extended upon request from year to year thereafter. Any member of the bargaining unit who is granted such leave of absence will be credited with the lost hours for pension purposes as though they were at work. The Employer shall continue to pay applicable premiums on behalf of the employee on leave and the Local or National Union shall reimburse the Employer for such premiums as soon as practicably possible, following receipt of a xxxx from the Employer.
Leave of absence for union purposes. 36.01 An employee who has been elected or appointed by the Union to attend as a delegate to Union conventions or conferences shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for this purpose. The Union will notify the employer in writing at least two (2) weeks in advance of the names of the employees who are elected as delegates. However, the Employer will make every effort to accommodate requests made on shorter notice. This clause shall not at any one time apply to more than five (5) union employees.
Leave of absence for union purposes. 29.08 When it is necessary for the Union to make application for an Employee for leave of absence on Union business, such application shall be submitted to Transit Administration not less than two (2) weeks prior to the leave of absence being required unless otherwise approved by the Department. Leave of absence for union purposes. 04 (a) Subject to the provisions of Clauses 13.04(b) and subject to Company scheduling and other operational requirements, a leave of absence with pay and with accumulation of seniority will be granted to a maximum of three (3) seniority employees at a time, selected to attend union conferences and other union functions. Such leaves shall not exceed ten (10) working days unless otherwise mutually agreed. Leave of absence for such attendance shall not exceed a bargaining unit cumulative total of forty (40) working days in any collective agreement contract year. The Company will xxxx the Union monthly for reimbursement of the value of all wages paid to such employees.
