LEAVES WITH PAY 6.2a SICK LEAVE. A. During the first year of employment in the Xxxxxxxxx County Public Schools, and during each successive year thereafter, each regular ten-month and eleven- month educational support employee of the Board shall be entitled to ten (10) days sick leave, the unused portion of which shall be accumulative. Twelve-month educational support employees shall be entitled to twelve (12) days sick leave, the unused portion of which shall be accumulative. Sick leave may be taken in one (1) hour increments and in fifteen minute increments after the first hour. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied. B. Educational support employees who draw upon their accumulated sick leave will have the number of days used deducted from their total days accumulated. Educational support employees whose sick leave has been exhausted and who have been employed by the system for five (5) years or more may request that the Board consider advancing ten (10) days beyond their annual allotment (total of twenty [20] days) for one (1) year only. Educational support employees will not be eligible to request and receive this grant more than once within a five (5) year period. C. Requests for sick leave from educational support employees because of illness in the family shall be construed to mean the illness of a member of the immediate household. Immediate household is limited to the same permanent residence as the employee requesting the leave. Educational support employees may request up to five (5) days of sick leave per year for the qualified illness of their parent or child not living in the immediate household. A qualified illness is a documented illness or infirmity that requires inpatient care in a hospital, hospice, or residential medical care facility. Additionally, the executive director of human resources shall authorize upon request and receipt of acceptable documentation the one-time use per eligible family member, by an educational support employee of accrued sick leave up to thirty (30) days, in the event that the educational support employee’s parent or child living out of the immediate household is diagnosed with a terminal condition. Other sick leave requests for members of the family not living in the immediate household or in excess of that permitted for a parent or child shall be processed as personal leave. D. Support employees who resign in good standing and return within two (2) years of their resignation date shall have all previous unused sick leave restored. X. ...

  • Leaves With Pay Section 1. An employee shall be granted leave with pay for service with a jury. The employee may keep any money paid by the court for serving on a jury. The Agency reserves the right to petition for removal of the employee from jury duty if, in the Agency’s judgment, the operating requirements of the Agency would be hampered. Section 2. Whenever possible, subject to Agency operating requirements, employees selected by proper authority for jury duty will be placed on a day shift, Monday through Friday, during the period they are obligated to jury duty. The Agency shall not suffer any penalty payments for the change in the work schedule of the employee on jury duty. (a) When any employee is not the plaintiff or defendant, he/she shall be granted leave with pay for appearance before a court, legislative committee, or judicial or quasi-judicial body as a witness in response to a subpoena or other direction by proper authority for matters other than the employee’s officially assigned duties. When the employee is granted leave with pay, the employee shall turn into the Agency any money paid in connection with the appearance. (b) When any employee represents an outside business interest and/or acts as an independent expert, he/she shall be granted accrued vacation, compensatory or personal business leave for appearance before a court, legislative committee or judicial or quasi-judicial body as a witness in response to a subpoena or other direction by proper authority for matters other than the employee’s officially assigned duties. The employee may keep any money paid in connection with the appearance. Section 4. An employee shall be on Agency time for attendance in court in connection with an employee’s officially assigned duties, including the time required going to court and returning to his/her official station. When the employee is granted Agency time, the employee shall turn into the Agency any money received for such attendance during duty hours. Section 5. In the event a night or swing shift employee is called to appear under Sections 1, 2, 3(a), or 4 above, he/she shall have release time the day of attendance. Time spent in attendance and in travel to and from his/her headquarters shall be deducted from the regular shift following the attendance with no loss of wages or benefits. Section 6. The State will comply with State and Federal laws for an employee who has served with the State of Oregon or its counties, municipalities, or other political subdivisions for six (6) months or more immediately preceding an application for military leave, and who is a member of the National Guard or of any reserve components of the armed forces of the United States.   • SICK LEAVE WITH PAY Sick leave with pay for employees shall be determined in the following manner:

  • Bereavement Leave With Pay For the purpose of this Article, immediate family is defined as father, mother (or alternatively stepfather, stepmother or xxxxxx parent), grandparent, brother, sister, spouse including common-law spouse residing with the employee), child (including child of common-law spouse or adopted child), stepchild or xxxx of the employee, grandchild, nephew, niece, uncle, aunt, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides and/or traditional Gitxsan affiliations as determined by the administrator in consultation with tribal elder. A) When a member of his/her immediate family dies, an employee: i) shall be entitled to a bereavement period of five (5) consecutive calendar days which does not extend beyond the day following the day of the funeral. During such period he shall be paid for those days which are not regularly scheduled days of rest for that employee; ii) in addition, the employee may be granted up to three (3) days leave with pay for the purpose of travel related to the death. B) In special circumstances and at the request of the employee, the fourth (4th) day bereavement period may be moved beyond the day following the day of the funeral but must include the day of the funeral. C) It is recognized by the parties that the circumstances which call for leave in respect of bereavement are based on individual circumstances. On request, the Employer may, after considering the particular circumstances involved, grant leave with pay for a period greater than that provided for in Article 14.02(A)(i) and (C) – Bereavement Leave with Pay. D) An employee is entitled to up to fourteen (14) hours bereavement leave per year with pay to attend or participate at a funeral of a person that is not immediate family, subject to operational requirements.

  • VACATION LEAVE WITH PAY 14.01 The vacation year shall be from April 1st of one calendar year to March 31st of the following calendar year inclusive.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Leave With Pay Compassionate leave of absence with pay shall be granted for three (3) work days. Up to two (2) additional days with pay shall be granted for travelling time when this is warranted in the judgement of the Employer.

  • Court Leave With Pay The Company shall grant leave with pay to an employee for the period of time he or she is required: (a) to be available for jury selection; (b) to serve on a jury; or (c) by subpoena or summons to attend as a witness in any proceeding to which he or she is not a party held: (i) in or under the authority of a court of justice or before a grand jury; (ii) before a court, judge, justice, magistrate or coroner; (iii) before the Senate or House of Commons of Canada, or a committee of the Senate or House of Commons, otherwise than in the performance of the duties of his or her position; (iv) before a legislative council, legislative assembly or house of assembly, or any committee thereof that is authorized by law to compel the attendance of witnesses before it; (v) before an arbitrator or umpire or a person or body of persons authorized by law to make an inquiry and to compel the attendance of witnesses before it, other than an arbitrator appointed under this Collective Agreement or the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

  • Leave of Absence With Pay 1. A leave of absence with pay shall be granted to any employee who serves on a jury or as a witness for the federal government, the State of Nevada, or a political subdivision thereof. The employee shall be paid his/her regular salary while on court leave and retain any witness or jury duty fees, when summoned for jury duty or serving as a witness in any case. When an employee, serving in his/her official capacity as a County employee and as part of his/her required duties, serves as a witness in any case, he shall not receive witness fees. Per diem and transportation costs may be paid by the requesting jurisdiction, considering such variables as whether or not the case is a criminal or civil matter, whether it is in State or out-of-state, the length of time the employee is required to stay away from the job and who receives ultimate benefit from the County employee’s testimony. Court leave shall not be charged to any employee’s annual leave balance. 2. When it is impractical for a registered voter to vote before or after his/her normal working hours, an employee will be granted sufficient time to vote.

  • Other Leave with Pay The Employer may grant leave with pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement, including military or civil defence training, and emergencies affecting the community or place of work.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave During the Term, Executive shall be entitled to (a) sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies applicable to similarly situated executive officers of the Company from time to time and (b) 4 weeks paid vacation each calendar year (up to 40 hours of which may be carried forward to a succeeding year).
