Master Teacher Committee. A. A master teacher committee shall be established for the purpose of designating teachers in the district as a master teacher.
1. The committee shall be comprised of four (4) Association - appointed members and two (2) administrators.
2. The master teacher committee shall be co-chaired by one (1) Association member and one (1) member of the Administration who shall jointly determine the time, location and number of committee meetings. The master teacher committee members shall establish its Plan of Operation for the appropriate designation of a master teacher, including but not limited to the application and review processes, the dissemination of general information to local association members, and the appeal procedure.
3. The Association shall determine the length of the term of office for the local association members serving on the master teacher committee. Terms of office for the master teacher committee shall be staggered to the greatest extent possible. The Association shall determine the process for removing a teacher member from office. In the event of an in-term vacancy or removal, the teacher member shall be replaced by the Association.
4. Nothing in the master teacher committee process shall have an adverse impact on the educator’s performance evaluation as established in this Agreement.
5. As determined by the master teacher committee, the Association’s master teacher committee members shall be provided on-going training by the employer to ensure consistent application of the master teacher criteria.
6. The Association’s master teacher committee members shall receive forty dollars ($40) for each application a committee member reviews.
7. The master teacher committee shall be provided with adequate and secure space for the safe and secure storage of records, files and any other work and materials requiring storage and/or file space. The master teacher committee shall be provided with the equipment, paper and other materials necessary to perform its duties, as specified in the master teacher operating procedures. The master teacher committee shall be provided with secretarial support and any other support services necessary.
8. The master teacher committee shall determine its own appeals procedure. The master teacher committee appeals procedure is not subject to the grievance/arbitration procedure outlined in this Agreement.

B. The master teacher committee shall be comprised of a majority of practicing teachers. The Association shall appoint three (3) teachers to the committee and the Superintendent shall appoint two (2) district administrators. As teachers earn the title of “Master Teacher”, the Association shall appoint new teacher members of the committee from those teachers.
C. The master teacher committee members shall jointly (by a 4/5 vote) establish a Plan of Operation for the appropriate designation of a master teacher, including but not limited to: the time and location of meetings, the application and review process, the dissemination of general information to local Association members, and the appeal procedure.
D. Members of the Master Teacher Committee will be compensated in the amount of $18 an hour for meetings held outside the regular work day.
Master Teacher Committee a. A Master Teacher Committee shall be established for the purpose of designating teachers in the building/district as Master Teachers in accordance with the recommendations of the Ohio Department of Education.
b. The Master Teacher Committee shall be comprised of a majority of practicing teachers. The Association shall appoint three (3) teachers to the committee and the Superintendent shall appoint two (2) district administrators.
c. The Master Teacher Committee members shall jointly establish a Plan of Operation for the appropriate designation of a Master Teacher, including but not limited to: the time and location of meetings, the application and review process, the dissemination of general information to local Association members, and the appeal procedure.
d. All members of the Master Teacher Committee shall be compensated for time spent at the rate of $15.00 per hour.
Master Teacher Committee. A. Master Teacher Committee
1. The Master Teacher Committee (MTC) shall be composed of five (5) members. Three (3) of the members shall be Professional Staff Members appointed as per the ASSOCIATION's Constitution and By-Laws. Two (2) members will be appointed by the Superintendent from the district’s administrative team. Each member of the committee shall serve a term of two (2) years in a staggered rotation. All members of the committee shall be required to successfully complete the ODE-sponsored Master Teacher training course before the start of their term.
Master Teacher Committee. A Master Teacher Committee of five persons, with three being teachers, will be appointed. The BOARD or its designee will appoint two members, and the ASSOCIATION will appoint three teachers; two of whom shall be Master Teachers. The Master Teacher Committee shall jointly establish its Plan of Operation. The operational procedures of the committee include, but are not limited to, time, location, and number of committee meetings. The ASSOCIATION will determine the process for removing a teacher member from office. If a vacancy occurs, the vacancy shall be filled by an ASSOCIATION member appointed by the ASSOCIATION. Involvement in the activities of the Master Teacher Committee process shall have no adverse impact on a professional staff member’s employee evaluation. The BOARD will provide on-going training for the Master Teacher Process. Teacher members of the Master Teacher Committee shall be compensated in accordance with Article 50.10.3U.
Master Teacher Committee. A. A committee shall be established composed of one (1) elementary bargaining unit member, one (1) middle level member, one (1) related services member and one (1) high school member selected by the Association, two (2) administrators selected by the Superintendent/Designee. The chairperson shall be selected annually by the committee members. The committee will have the following responsibilities:
1. Provide Master Teacher orientation in the fall and the spring.
2. Provide support for Master Teacher candidates throughout the year.
3. Evaluate Master Teacher applications in the fall and in the spring. The Office of Professional Learning will keep all records regarding Master Teacher applications and results.
Master Teacher Committee. A. The Board and the LTA agree to recognize, pursuant to R.C. 3319.61 (F)(5), a Master Teacher Committee, hereinafter MTC.
Master Teacher Committee. The Master Teacher Committee shall consist of five (5) members, two (2) of which shall be administrators appointed by the Superintendent and three (3) of which shall be appointed by the Association President. Committee members shall serve for terms of one year each and may be reappointed to subsequent terms. Vacancies will be filled in the manner of original appointment. The Master Teacher Committee shall: • Be responsible for the review, grading and certification of bargaining unit member applications for Master Teacher designation, consistent with the regulations of the Ohio Department of Education. • Establish documentation requirements and procedures for submitting Master Teacher applications. • Communicate the process for the benefits of becoming certified as a Master Teacher to bargaining unit members. The committee shall designate a chairperson who will be responsible for establishing committee meeting agendas and overseeing committee operations. The committee meeting schedule shall be established by mutual agreement of members of the committee. Committee meetings shall occur outside the contract day. The committee shall be responsible for receiving, reviewing and scoring Master Teacher applications. The Committee may delegate review and scoring of Master Teacher applications to appropriate bargaining unit members. Final approval of all applications is the responsibility of the Committee. Members of the committee and designated reviewers shall be provided with appropriate training. Bargaining unit members who serve on the committee shall be compensated $1,250 annually.

In future years, as Master Teachers are identified, teacher members of the committee will be comprised of Master Teachers. The committee shall be comprised of five (5) members as follows: three (3) teachers appointed by the Association and two (2) administrators holding Ohio Administrator Licenses. The master teacher committee shall determine the time, location and number of committee meetings and shall establish its Plan of Operations by a majority plus one vote. The Plan of Operations shall include the appropriate designation of a master teacher, including but not limited to the application and review processes, the dissemination of general information to local association members, and the appeal procedure. The master teacher committee shall operate in accordance with law, ODE’s rules, and XXX’s Master Teacher Processes and Procedures. The committee shall determine the length of the term of office for the local Association members serving on the master teacher committee. Terms of office for the master teacher committee shall be staggered to the greatest extent possible. The committee shall determine the process for removing a teacher member from office. In the event of an in-term vacancy or removal, the teacher member shall be replaced by the Association. The master teacher committee members shall receive thirty dollars ($30.00) per application reviewed and scored. The master teacher committee’s actions, appeals procedure, and decisions shall not be subject to the grievance/arbitration procedure outlined in this Agreement. If Master Teacher provisions of law are repealed or if ODE no longer recognizes a Master Teacher designation, then this Article shall automatically expire with the effective date of the change.
