Teacher Orientation. The District employee handbook, the school faculty handbook which contains all local school policies and regulations, and any handbooks specific to assigned job tasks shall be updated annually, shall not be in conflict with the contract, and shall be provided to each teacher prior to the start of classes. Said handbooks shall provide written direction to access school board information on the web.
Teacher Orientation. A. When a new-teacher orientation is held at the beginning of the school year, the Union will be provided time on the agenda. 1. This time will not be used to discuss or distribute membership information.
Teacher Orientation. ‌ 25.1 The Board shall supply the Association with a list of the names and addresses of all such teachers no later than August 15. Names and addresses of teachers hired thereafter shall be transmitted immediately to the Association President. 25.2 All teachers shall follow the adopted calendar and shall not be required to perform services for the Board, including attendance at Board workshops or tours of civic meetings prior to the first day of required student attendance, except those teachers under contract for service beyond the regular work year and according to the provisions of Article 24.3. 25.3 One (1) hour per day as requested shall be set aside for Association meeting(s) during pre-service work days. Such time shall not exceed three hours total if the number of pre-service workdays exceeds three. 25.4 Up to one (1) hour during the annual new-teacher orientation day shall be set aside for Association business. 25.5 Extra-duty days may be added annually if mutually agreed upon by the District and unit member.
Teacher Orientation. Upon request, the Association shall have an opportunity to appear on the orientation program for new bargaining unit members. The presentation shall be for the exclusive purpose of explaining services offered by the Association and soliciting membership and shall not exceed thirty (30) minutes in duration.
Teacher Orientation. Section 1. It shall be the responsibility of the Administration to orient new staff members to the Weedsport Central School System. New staff members may be required to attend orientation or training programs, prior to the regular opening of school, for a maximum of five (5) days. Section 2. The Association shall accept the responsibility of cooperating as requested by the Administration in making recommendations as to materials to be included and such procedures to be followed in such orientation. Section 3. The Administration may ask for and expect assistance from the staff in other ways to accomplish suitable orientation. Section 4. The Association will have the opportunity annually to meet with the group of new teachers during the lunch hour of an orientation day during the first week of school.
Teacher Orientation. 7.1.1 Teachers who have not previously been employed in the District (new teacher) may be invited by the administration to one day of orientation workshops and one uninterrupted day in their classroom paid at their per diem rate before the first in-service day of required certificated attendance. The Board shall supply the Association with a list of the names and addresses of all such teachers no later than August 15th or within ten (10) days of being hired. 7.1.2 New teachers shall not be required to perform services for the Board, including attendance at Board workshops, tours or civic meetings, more than four (4) days before the first day of required student attendance. 7.1.3 Teachers who have been previously employed in the District (returning teachers) shall not be required to perform services more than two days before the first day of required student attendance.
Teacher Orientation. The Board shall allow the Association to hold a two-hour Association meeting during the normal workday during teacher orientation week on a day other than a staff development buy back day.
Teacher Orientation. Each teacher new to the district shall have one day of orientation before contract days begin. This day shall be paid at the substitute rate. Each new teacher will be assigned a mentor from the continuing staff. This mentor will be asked to attend ½ of the orientation day and will be paid at the substitute rate for the time worked. Orientation to the district shall include but not be limited to completion of required documentation for the district, payroll procedures, licensure review, access to and operation of the electronic grade book, access to and operation of the PDP toolbox, procedures for using any leave provisions in the negotiated agreement, review of building handbooks and the district negotiated agreement.

Teacher Orientation. Where a transfer under Article 32 or Article 34 occurs during the school year, the teacher will be pro- vided with a teacher-on-call for one (1) day, and may be provided with a teacher-on-call for up to three days, so that the teacher can assemble materials at the for- mer school, receive an orientation at the new assign- ment, and prepare for the new duties before assuming those duties.
