Teacher Orientation. The District employee handbook, the school faculty handbook which contains all local school policies and regulations, and any handbooks specific to assigned job tasks shall be updated annually, shall not be in conflict with the contract, and shall be provided to each teacher prior to the start of classes. Said handbooks shall provide written direction to access school board information on the web.
Teacher Orientation. A. When a new-teacher orientation is held at the beginning of the school year, the Union will be provided time on the agenda.
Teacher Orientation. Section 1. It shall be the responsibility of the Administration to orient new staff members to the Weedsport Central School System. New staff members may be required to attend orientation or training programs, prior to the regular opening of school, for a maximum of five (5) days.
Teacher Orientation. Upon request, the Association shall have an opportunity to appear on the orientation program for new bargaining unit members. The presentation shall be for the exclusive purpose of explaining services offered by the Association and soliciting membership and shall not exceed thirty (30) minutes in duration.
Teacher Orientation. 15.1 The Board shall allow the Association to hold a two-hour Association meeting during the normal workday during teacher orientation week on a day other than a staff development buy back day.
Teacher Orientation. 7.1.1 Teachers who have not previously been employed in the District (new teacher) may be invited by the administration to one day of orientation workshops and one uninterrupted day in their classroom paid at their per diem rate before the first in-service day of required certificated attendance. The Board shall supply the Association with a list of the names and addresses of all such teachers no later than August 15th or within ten (10) days of being hired.
Teacher Orientation. 8100 Newly employed members of the bargaining unit shall not be required to attend more than three (3) days of orientation prior to the official beginning date of the regular teacher work year. Newly employed members of the bargaining unit will be paid $150 per day for up to three days. 8200 Current unit members who are new to a District site shall be offered the opportunity to attend one of the new employees’ orientation days. No additional salary shall be paid by the District.
Teacher Orientation. Each teacher new to the district shall have one day of orientation before contract days begin. This day shall be paid at the substitute rate. Each new teacher will be assigned a mentor from the continuing staff. This mentor will be asked to attend ½ of the orientation day and will be paid at the substitute rate for the time worked. Orientation to the district shall include but not be limited to completion of required documentation for the district, payroll procedures, licensure review, access to and operation of the electronic grade book, access to and operation of the PDP toolbox, procedures for using any leave provisions in the negotiated agreement, review of building handbooks and the district negotiated agreement.
Teacher Orientation. Prior to the beginning of the school term, each newly employed teacher, in the presence of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, shall be afforded a review of the appropriate curriculum, including its goals and expectations. Should the curriculum, including its goals and expectations, significantly change in the teacher's second or third year of non- tenured status, such review shall be held as soon as practicable after the decision to change is made.
Teacher Orientation. Teachers new to the district will be on a 190 day contract rather than the 188 day returning teacher contract. The additional days will be prior to the first day for the returning teachers and will be used for teacher orientation, reviewing scope/sequence objectives, and training in the teacher effectiveness model and classroom management activities. Teachers will be compensated for the additional days at a rate of 1/188th of their salary per day.
