Pay on Temporary Transfer. When an employee temporarily relieves in or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position he shall receive the rate for the job. When an employee temporarily relieves in a position paying a lower rate, his rate shall not be reduced.
Pay on Temporary Transfer. When an employee is required by the Corporation to assume the job duties of any other classification than his/her own for a period of one full shift or more, the employee will receive the rate of pay for the position or his/her own rate of pay, whichever is the greater, for the full period of relief.

Pay on Temporary Transfer. When an employee is temporarily required to perform duties in a higher paying classification, they shall be paid for the full shift at the job rate for the classification which the employee assumes, provided that the employee is in the upgraded classification for a minimum of four (4) consecutive hours or more. Bargaining unit employees who are appointed to temporary “acting” positions outside of the bargaining unit, shall continue to accumulate seniority and service and continue to have Union dues deducted throughout the temporary period. The employee will return to their bargaining unit position within six (6) months after the temporary appointment, unless the Union and the Employer otherwise agree. Employees transferring to another position within the Corporation, not covered by this Agreement, on a secondment or temporary basis, will continue to receive the medical/dental benefits and all other entitlements associated with this agreement. Upon completion of a secondment or temporary assignment, employees will revert back to their substantive position to the appropriate hourly rate. The provisions of this article shall apply to periods during which the employee is absent on sick pay or paid holidays or on an approved annual vacation.

1. Mechanic.

Pay on Temporary Transfer. 13.01 When an employee is temporarily assigned by the Town to perform the principal duties of a higher classification, for a period of five (5) consecutive working days or more, that employee shall receive the rate of pay in the higher classification which is next higher than their regular rate of pay for the time so assigned. This provision shall not apply when an employee is so assigned for the purpose of on-the-job training. The Employee assigned will be based on qualifications and the principles of seniority.
13.02 When an employee is assigned by the Town, on a temporary basis, to a position paying a lower rate, his/her rate shall not be reduced.
a) When an employee is assigned by the Town to relieve in an out-of-scope position such employee shall receive their regular rate of pay plus a premium of one dollar ($1.00) per hour, from the first day of assignment, when relieving for a period of five (5) working days or more.
b) It is agreed, that from time to time, there is a requirement, for the Town to assign an employee lead hand responsibilities. It is understood, that the premium paid for these responsibilities, while so assigned, shall be not less than one dollar ($1.00) per hour.
13.04 a) Permanent Full-time Employees hired into Recreation Worker or Labourer positions who are moving across from one seasonal department to another shall remain in their classification and revert to their permanent position in the alternate season.
