Payout for Unused Sick Leave. Upon service retirement, disability retirement, or death of an employee, and subject to the provisions of the agreement between the County and the Public Employees Retirement System, unused accumulated sick leave shall be credited at the rate of fifty percent (50%) of the current salary value thereof for each person who has had five (5) full years of continuous service in a paid status. The total credit shall not exceed a sum equal to 960 hours of full pay. Payment resulting from death shall be made to the persons entitled under the Probate Code. Eligibility for a credit under this section is made at the time of separation from County employment and not at a later date. Upon termination of employment for any reason other than retirement, disability retirement or death, unused accrued sick leave shall be forfeited.

Payout for Unused Sick Leave. A. Any teacher who was employed by the Board as a teacher on or before June 30, 1990 and who remains so employed as a teacher in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District on September 1, 1990 shall receive at the time of resignation from employment in the district compensation for unused, accumulated sick days he or she had as of June 30, 1990 up to a maximum of 180 days as follows: 1. Teachers with 1-5 years of service in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District as of June 30, 1990 will receive twenty percent (20%) of their average per diem salary∗* for the period of their employment in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District multiplied by the number of unused, accumulated sick days they had as of June 30, 1990. 2. Teachers with 6-10 years of service in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District as of June 30, 1990 will receive forty percent (40%) of their average per diem salary* for the 1985-86, 1986-87, 1987-88, 1988-89 and 1989-90 school years multiplied by the number of unused, accumulated sick days they had as of June 30, 1990. 3. Teachers with 11-15 years of service in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District as of June 30, 1990 will receive sixty percent (60%) of their average per diem salary* for the 1985-86, 1986-87, 1987-88, 1988-89 and 1989-90 school years multiplied by the number of unused, accumulated sick days they had as of June 30, 1990. 4. Teachers with 16-20 years of service in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District as of June 30, 1990 will receive eighty percent (80%) of their average per diem salary* for the 1985-86, 1986-87, 1987-88, 1988-89 and 1989-90 school years multiplied by the number of unused, accumulated sick days they had as of June 30, 1990. ∗ Per diem salary for each school year is equivalent to 1/180 of the teacher's annual salary. The per diem salary calculation of 1/180 is only applicable to Paragraph VII of Schedule C. 5. Teachers with 21 or more years of service in the Xxxxxxxxxx Park School District as of June 30, 1990 will receive one hundred percent (100%) of their average per diem salary* for the 1985-86, 1986- 87, 1987-88, 1988-89 and 1989-90 school years multiplied by the number of unused, accumulated sick days they had as of June 30, 1990. 6. For all teachers in categories detailed in Paragraphs 2-5 who have accrued a minimum of 80 unused sick days during their service in Xxxxxxxxxx Park, teaching experience in other school districts in New Jersey will be used to determine the years of service for the payment calculation. Payout for Unused Sick Leave. An employee having accrued sick leave to his or her credit and who has been employed for a period of not less than two (2) years, shall on termination, receive severance pay equal to fifty per cent (50%) of the sick leave credit accumulated subsequent to January 1st, 1961. Where the two (2) year requirement is not fulfilled, twenty-five per cent (25%) of the sick leave credit accumulated subsequent to January 1st, 1961, shall apply. In the event of the death of the employee, sick leave severance pay shall be calculated on the same basis and shall be payable to the beneficiary. Sick leave severance pay shall be subject to the maximum thirty (30) day’s pay and in no case shall it exceed this amount.

  • Payment for Unused Sick Leave (a) An employee with less than ten (10) years of FIU service who separates from FIU shall not be paid for any unused sick leave. (b) An employee who has completed ten (10) or more years of FIU service, has not been found guilty or has not admitted to being guilty of committing, aiding, or abetting any embezzlement, theft, or bribery in connection with State government, or has not been found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction of having violated any State law against or prohibiting strikes by public employees, and separates from FIU because of retirement for other than disability reasons, termination, or death, shall be compensated at the employee's current regular hourly rate of pay for one-eighth of all unused sick leave accrued prior to October 1, 1973, plus one- fourth of all unused sick leave accrued on or after October 1, 1973; provided that one-fourth of the unused sick leave since 1973 does not exceed 480 hours. The compensation in this paragraph 8(4)(b) shall not be given to an employee who starts employment at FIU on or after July 1, 2006. (c) Upon layoff, an employee with ten (10) or more years of FIU service shall be paid for unused sick leave as described in paragraph b., above, unless the employee requests in writing that unused sick leave be retained pending re-employment. For an employee who is re-employed by the University within twelve (12) calendar months following layoff, all unused sick leave shall be restored to the employee, provided the employee requests such action in writing and repays the full amount of any lump sum leave payments received at the time of layoff. An employee who is not re- employed within twelve (12) calendar months following layoff shall be paid for sick leave in accordance with this Policy. (d) All payments for unused sick leave shall be made in lump sum and shall not be used in determining the average final compensation of an employee in any State administered retirement system. An employee shall not be carried on the payroll beyond the last official day of employment, except that an employee who is unable to perform duties because of a disability may be continued on the payroll until all sick leave is exhausted. (e) If an employee has received a lump sum payment for accrued sick leave, the employee may elect in writing, upon re-employment within 100 days, to restore the employee's accrued sick leave. Restoration will be effective upon the repayment of the full lump sum leave payment. (f) In the event of the death of an employee, payment for unused sick leave at the time of death shall be made to the employee's beneficiary, estate, or as provided by law.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires.   • HOLIDAY COMPENSATION FOR TIME WORKED 110. Employees required by their respective appointing officers to work on any of the above specified or substitute holidays, excepting Fridays observed as holidays in lieu of holidays falling on Saturday, shall be paid extra compensation of one additional day's pay at time-and-one-half the usual rate in the amount of 12 hours pay for 8 hours worked or a proportionate amount for less than 8 hours worked provided, however, that at the employee's request and with the approval of the appointing officer, an employee may be granted compensatory time off in lieu of paid overtime pursuant to the provisions of Section III.E.2. 111. Executive, administrative and professional employees designated in the Annual Salary Ordinance with the "Z" symbol shall not receive extra compensation for holiday work but may be granted time off equivalent to the time worked at the rate of-one-and-one-half times for work on the holiday.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Vacation Earnings for Partial Years (1) During the first partial year of service a new employee will earn vacation at the rate of three and two-thirds (32/3) days for each month for which the employee earns ten (10) days pay. (2) Subject to Clause 17.8, any unused vacation earned during the first (1st) partial year will be paid to the employee at December 31st of that year. (b) At the election of the employee such payments may be paid in accordance with the usual pay day relevant to the period of leave being taken.
