Planning Days. The school calendar shall contain ten (10) planning days throughout each school year. Five (5) of these days shall occur at the beginning of the school year. On all planning days, teachers shall have one (1) hour for lunch.
Planning Days. Upon mutual agreement of the Appointing Authority and the teacher, each teacher shall be provided with not less than three (3) planning days without scheduled activity, and with full access to their work site and materials, during each fiscal year.
Planning Days. Teacher Assistants and Exceptional Education Teacher Assistants shall receive three (3) extra workdays in addition to the contract days. The extra days shall be assigned as follows:
1. The first day shall be allocated for the assigned teacher and shall occur during the three teacher preparation days before the first day of school with students.
2. One of these days shall be reserved for the discretion of the Executive Director of Exceptional Education for the purpose of mandatory training to be assigned at the end of the first or end of the third quarters.
Planning Days. There is recognition that SCCC Faculty may need one or more planning days during the summer quarter for each academic year. It is agreed therefore, that SCCC faculty may individually decide how their nine planning days will be assigned for each quarter of the academic year. Planning days must be spread over at least three quarters of the academic year.
Planning Days. In worksites where paraprofessionals/aides are assigned to work planning days, their work day will be the same as teachers. Principals will provide paraprofessionals/aides with no less than five (5) days notice of any required activity to occur on a planning day. Scheduling and duration of lunch periods will be determined after input from the staff.

Professors will be given 5 planning days as part of the 177 day contract year: 3 planning days during fall in-service week to be determined by the administration, 1 planning day during the last two weeks of fall quarter and 1 planning day during the last two weeks of winter quarter. There will be no meetings scheduled by the administration requiring faculty participation during these five planning days, except for new faculty orientation.
Planning Days. Planning time is designed for such activities as curriculum alignment, lesson development, and work around individual goals. These days may also be used to accommodate individual or team planning, or department planning. • Each full-time elementary educator will receive five (5) half-days of release time per year, provided by a substitute. • Each full-time middle school educator will receive three (3) half-days of release time per year, provided by a substitute. • Each full time high school educator will receive two (2) half-days of release time per year, provided by a substitute. • Any educator who works at more than one level (i.e. middle school/high school) will receive the greater number of half-days per year, provided by a substitute. Secondary educators in their first three years in a building who teach more than three different preps shall receive two (2) additional half-days of release time per year, provided by a substitute. Planning days requiring a substitute may not be scheduled on Fridays, the day before a vacation or following a vacation. In addition, educators should avoid taking planning days requiring a substitute on Monday morning. Requests for planning days requiring a substitute will not be granted during the first five (5) days and the last five (5) days of a school year. When possible, two educators should jointly schedule half days each to utilize full day subs or educators should schedule full days as planning days. Educators are strongly encouraged to request these planning time substitutes at least three (3) days in advance. Notification for the use of planning days should be forwarded to the building principal for coordinating the overall building schedule. In lieu of utilizing the half days as provided above, employees may choose to be compensated at an hourly rate equivalent to the curriculum rate for planning time conducted outside the workday. Planning Days shall be provided, pro-rated by FTE. Requests for compensation shall be made by the last working day of each month in order to receive compensation in the next pay period.
Planning Days. Upon at least two (2) days prior notice and upon request to the supervisor, an elementary or special education teacher shall be granted four days (4) per year for preparation or for such other District approved activity. Two days should be used by January 31st unless mutually agreed upon between the member and the administrator. Grade levels and/or “teams” may coordinate release time on a common day, however, more than one grade level and/or “team” shall not take common days without approval of the principal. Upon request, members may agree, but will not be required, to report to their worksite. If they agree to report, they will be paid two hours at the curriculum rate.
Planning Days. Teachers who teach two core content (math, science, ELA, History, AP) courses who cannot have 500 minutes of prep total will be given one planning day per quarter for a total of 4.
Planning Days. 6.5.1 A minimum of one full day and one half (1.5) planning days shall be scheduled prior to the first student day in the fall. These days shall be reserved for professional educators to set-up and plan for the beginning of the year.
6.5.2 There shall be one (1) planning day scheduled at the end of each quarterly grading period for a total of four (4) days; plus one day at the end of the year. However, professional educators shall have a minimum of two (2) full working days to submit grades/progress reports at the end of each grading period. No voluntary or mandatory trainings or professional development or meetings may be scheduled for professional educators on these planning days.
6.5.3 One-half (1/2) of planning day time may be used by administration for meetings with Child Development Specialists, Social Workers, School Psychologists, Audiologists, and Student Service Specialists.
