Shift Sign-Up exceptions to Appendix 6 of the 1997-2001 Collective Bargaining Agreement at Overhead Lines: For all open shifts, selection based on seniority with bids made twice a year, January 1 and July 1. For all closed shifts (shop person and senior underground) assignments made by supervisor.
Shift Sign-Up. Shift sign-up shall occur at least two (2) shift periods (approximately 6 months) in advance. A shift cycle shall be 28 days in length. A shift period shall consist of 3 consecutive shift cycles with the exception of a fourth shift period being 4 consecutive cycles in order to achieve signing up 4 separate times in a calendar year.
Shift Sign-Up. Shift sign-ups will be conducted by the Union with a supervisor available to answer questions.
(A) The Union member responsible for conducting the sign-up will be released from work to conduct the sign- up with pay.
(B) Shift sign-ups will be completed by the Union and delivered to the Bureau by March 1st and September 1st of each year.
(C) The Union Chapter Chairs will receive the sign-up from management by the 26th of the month prior to the start of the sign-up for review and input (January 26 and July 26 of each year).
(D) Shift and days off selections will be made available to employees by the Bureau and the Union for the start of the shift signup process on February 1 and August 1 of each year.
(E) The Union member conducting the sign-up will be responsible for selecting the shift/days off for any bargaining unit member not present during the sign-up and/or any bargaining unit member who did not leave their selections with the Union member responsible for conducting the sign-up.
(F) An ECDT or ECCT who is approaching final certification at phones or dispatch may be included in the applicable sign-up.

Shift Sign-Up. Patrol shift sign-ups will occur twice a year, generally once during the month of February and once during the month of August. Sign-ups for all shifts will be done by seniority basis by time in grade except when, on a person by person basis, the Director determines a need to do otherwise.
Shift Sign-Up. A. The Communications Manager will post the annual shift and leave sign up schedule by September 15th each year for the following year. Communication Technicians sign up for shift selection, selected days off, vacation, compensatory time off (CTO) and holiday time.
B. Employees will sign up by seniority for their choice of shifts, payback hours, and leave hours for each of the three annual rotations. Shift selection will be by seniority, including relief shift.
C. Employees shall have three days (72 hrs) from the date of receipt of the schedule to make their selection for work shifts, days off and annual vacation accrual. Employees are entitled to sign up for the total of their annual accrual of vacation time utilizing coding “V".
1. Communications Technicians will sign-up for “V” days with the expectation that the center is fully staffed and the relief from that watch is available to cover. Communication Technicians may not sign up for vacation time during the initial sign-up if it will incur overtime. First draft vacation requests shall be approved with mandatory overtime in the event of unit vacancies after the master schedule is completed.
D. Once all unit employees have had the opportunity to sign up for their maximum accrual of vacation time, they shall be entitled to again sign up by seniority for all accrued compensatory time off (CTO), holiday hours and previously unselected leave time they will have accumulated by the date requested. Compensatory time off shall be coded “CTO", holiday leave and all other previously unselected leave time shall be coded “H".
1. Second draft CTO, holiday and previously unselected leave time may be granted and overtime considered for unit vacancies. Overtime will be posted to accommodate such leave requests. Should the overtime remain unfilled, the requested leave time shall be cancelled.
2. In the event that scheduled CTO time is cancelled, the affected employee shall be paid for the CTO hours scheduled, work the shift and be compensated with overtime as defined in Section 11.3.
E. The Communications and Records Manager shall approve leave time by seniority and post same on the electronic schedule by the start of each rotation.
F. Employees generally will not be allowed to work more than two consecutive shift assignments without rotation to an alternate shift. The Communications and Records Manager may consider requests to work more than two consecutive rotations for hardship and educational purposes. In no case wil...
Shift Sign-Up. The Company will post notices of open shifts available by classification, date and shift where such additional hours are known more than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of the shift. Qualified employees in the classification may sign-up for such hours. The hours will be awarded as equitably as practicable amongst those employees who would not be entitled to overtime. For hours known less than 24 hours prior to the start of the shift the article 7.04 will apply.
Shift Sign-Up. Sign-up for shifts and days off shall be determined by seniority. Seniority is determined by the amount of time served in the classification at the City of Petaluma. Time served in the classification shall include time served in a higher classification in the same series.

Shift Sign-Up. Shifts shall be of two weeks duration. All shift sign ups for regular employees shall be bid by seniority. Each regular employee is encouraged to submit a standing request for preferred shift(s). If an employee is absent during the signup period, or does not have sufficient seniority to get any of the shifts on their standing application, their shift(s) will be scheduled by management. The Company will endeavor to publish and post up-to-date seniority lists two (2) weeks prior to the release of the shift bid.
