Shift Transfer. 1. When a bargaining unit vacancy occurs within a work scheduling group and the Employer decides to fill that shift, management for the work scheduling group shall notify all employees within the work scheduling group employed in the same job classification as the vacated position. Employees who desire to change shifts shall have five (5) consecutive weekdays to submit their shift preferences to management in writing. Shifts shall then be reassigned based on seniority.
Shift Transfer. 11.01 A seniority employee will have the privilege of transferring from one shift to another on an annual basis, within his department, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained.

Shift Transfer. The Chief of Police may move a unit member from one work shift to another work shift if the change is deemed to be in the best interest of the Department and the DISTRICT. However, the Chief of Police shall provide at least twenty-one (21) calendar days’ notice to the unit member prior to changing their shift. In the case where a shift change is between two (2) or more unit members, the unit member with the most seniority shall have the right to accept or reject the transfer. All schedule changes shall be made with the needs of the Department being primary, and the needs of the unit member being secondary.

Regular Work Week 723 724 The regular workweek shall consist of five (5) eight (8) hour days, making a total of forty (40) 725 hours per week. All work in excess of forty (40) hours within the employee’s scheduled 726 workweek, or in excess of eight (8) hours per day shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half 727 (1½) of the individual employee’s straight-time hourly rate. Full-time employees will be entitled 728 to have two (2) consecutive days off per week; such days off to be scheduled by management. 729 No employee shall receive overtime pay unless overtime work has been authorized by the 730 designated supervisor. The pay period shall be Saturday to Friday, inclusive. 731 732 Section 7.G. Working Hours 733 734 I. Basic Rule 735 736 Hours of work for all non-probationary, regular, full-time and part-time employees, shall be 737 continuous with the exception of an unpaid lunch period. Subject to the foregoing, and Section 738 7.F. Shift Transfer, the University retains its prerogative to set and change the work hours and 739 work shifts of all employees. However, such adjustments shall neither be arbitrary nor 740 capricious nor utilized as a disciplinary measure. 741
Shift Transfer. In the event that an employee is transferred by the employer from one shift to another the employee will be allowed to reschedule vacation time as follows: If an employee volunteers to transfer from one shift to another for the purpose of long term acting officer, transfer date shifts of choice shall not apply. When an employee is transferring shifts for a promotion, transfer dates can only be used for previously scheduled vacation. All provisions of the section remain in effect, except for shifts of choice.
