Shift Transfer. Employees may use their plant wide seniority to transfer onto other shifts through the Job Posting Procedure or while exercising their seniority in the event of a layoff or recall. Employees in the classification where the opening exists will be given the opportunity to change shifts, according to their plant wide seniority, before the job is posted. Shift Transfer. 1. When a bargaining unit vacancy occurs within a work scheduling group and the Employer decides to fill that shift, management for the work scheduling group shall notify all employees within the work scheduling group employed in the same job classification as the vacated position. Employees who desire to change shifts shall have five (5) consecutive weekdays to submit their shift preferences to management in writing. Shifts shall then be reassigned based on seniority.
2. An employee who successfully bids on a different shift shall not be eligible for another such transfer for a period of six (6) months.
3. Employees who are on a performance improvement plan shall not be eligible for shift transfer until after successful completion of the performance improvement plan.
4. The vacancy that remains after reassignment of shifts may then be posted in accordance with Section B below. If no qualified internal employee bids on the open shift within the 5-day notice period, the vacancy may be posted in accordance with Section B below.
Shift Transfer. Shift transfers shall be made on the basis of job seniority. Employees, with the approval of their supervisor, have the right to temporarily exchange shifts. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to temporary employment or transfer made necessary by the absence of employees.
Shift Transfer. (a) A shift transfer is defined as a change of work hours from night, swing, day, or irregular shift to another shift in the same department.
(b) Any permanent employee may request a shift transfer at any time. Such request shall be made in writing to Human Resources and shall be kept on file. An employee may remove themselves from the list at any time by submitting an online request for removal.
(c) Shift transfer requests shall be referred to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Manager when an opening becomes available. Employees who submitted their shift transfer request first will have the first opportunity for refusal of shift transfer. Refusal of shift transfer will maintain position of order.
(d) Employees approved for a shift transfer shall be notified in writing of their new work location, supervisor, shift start date, and work days and hours. Employee may present documentation of leave requests approved by previous supervisor to be incorporated into the employee’s schedule.
(e) If an employee is transferred to a different shift, the shift request on file with Human Resources shall be removed. A new shift request must be submitted in order to remain on the list. Placement on the shift transfer list shall be in order of receipt by Human Resources with the newest request being placed at the bottom of the order.
Shift Transfer. An employee who desires a transfer to another shift may so advise his/her Supervisor in writing. As openings in his/her classification occur, consideration will be given his/her request along with those of any others in accordance with relative seniority. Such transfers, however, shall not take precedence over the normal upgrading of qualified longer service employees. Exceptions to the above may be made in certain special cases by mutual agreement.
Shift Transfer. Shift transfer shall be made annually on the basis of overall seniority and qualifications. Each qualified employee desiring to be transferred from one shift to another shall notify his supervisor of such desire. All vacancies must be filled. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to temporary employment or transfer made necessary by the absence of employees.
Shift Transfer. The Chief of Police may move a unit member from one work shift to another work shift if the change is deemed to be in the best interest of the Department and the DISTRICT. However, the Chief of Police shall provide at least twenty-one (21) calendar days’ notice to the unit member prior to changing their shift. In the case where a shift change is between two (2) or more unit members, the unit member with the most seniority shall have the right to accept or reject the transfer. All schedule changes shall be made with the needs of the Department being primary, and the needs of the unit member being secondary.
6.4.5.1 The affected unit member may schedule a meeting with the Chief of Police to discuss the rationale for the transfer. The decision of the Chief of Police shall be final.
Shift Transfer. When shift or assignment transfers are determined as necessary by the University, the University will seek and accept qualified volunteers to change shifts. If there is more than one (1) volunteer deemed equally qualified by the University for the transfer, the most senior volunteer will be transferred. If there are no volunteers, the most junior qualified employee in the job classification will be transferred. Except in case of emergency, the employee transferred involuntarily will be given forty-five (45) days’ notice (from date of reassignment) to rearrange their personal schedule and commence the new shift. The Association will be copied on all such notices.
Shift Transfer. 13.01 A seniority employee will have the privilege of transferring from one shift to another on an annual basis, within his department, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained.
13.02 Application for shift transfer, within a department, will be accepted between September 1st and September 14th of each year in writing. Application forms will be supplied by the Company. The employee will obtain and drop off the completed forms at the Human Resource Department.
13.03 The privilege of transferring from one shift to another will only apply to production personnel whose seniority rights apply to one of the following Departments:
(1) Fish Department
(2) Xxxx Department
(3) Vegetable Department
(4) Packaging Department
13.04 A seniority employee will be granted his full seniority rights on the shift to which he is transferred within the department wherein his rights apply upon commencement of the following calendar year.
13.05 A seniority employee who transfers from one shift to another shift in accordance with this article, will be transferred on a one for one basis. The most junior employee in the same classification as the person who is transferring shifts will be reassigned to fill the vacancy created by the transfer.
13.06 If the seniority of an employee whose shift is transferred in accordance with this article is identical to an employee who is presently on the shift to which such employee transferred, seniority will be determined by plant wide order number (i.e. the employee with the lower number is more senior on the shift).
13.07 Following a complete tabulation of these shift transfers, the Company and the Union

The Association will be copied on all such notices. 858 859 Section 7.F. Regular Work Week 860 861 The regular workweek shall consist of five (5) eight (8) hour days, making a total of forty 862 (40) hours per week. All work in excess of forty (40) hours within the employee’s scheduled 863 workweek, or in excess of eight (8) hours per day shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half 864 (1½) of the individual employee’s straight-time hourly rate. Full-time employees will be entitled 865 to have two (2) consecutive days off per week; such days off to be scheduled by management. 866 No employee shall receive overtime pay unless overtime work has been authorized by the 867 designated supervisor. The pay period shall be Saturday to Friday, inclusive. 869 Section 7.G. Working Hours 868 870 871 I. Basic Rule 873 Hours of work for all non-probationary, regular, full-time and part-time 874 employees, shall be continuous with the exception of an unpaid lunch period. 875 Subject to the foregoing, and Section 7.F. Shift Transfer, the University retains its 876 prerogative to set and change the work hours and work shifts of all employees. 877 However, such adjustments shall neither be arbitrary nor capricious nor utilized as 878 a disciplinary measure. 879
