Shortened Day. All employees shall report at their regularly assigned places and times unless informed otherwise by the administration. Employees whose arrival is reasonably delayed as a result of the conditions for which the late start is declared, shall not have their pay docked. When early dismissal for students is announced, employees will be informed if their dismissal time is different than normal. When employees are instructed to report late or leave early, they will be paid for all the hours they regularly would work on that day.
Shortened Day. When the school day is shortened for any reason, such as a delayed opening, an assembly, or an early dismissal that is reasonably foreseeable, the standard administrative practice will be to shorten each period, including the preparation period. If the building principal believes a different method may result in educational advantages, either on a specified occasion or as an alternative standard, he or she shall consult with the faculty, and with the Association’s building representative pursuant to sections C.2 of this Article. The principal will attempt to ensure that each period meets for approximately the same amount of time each semester, as objective circumstances permit.

Shortened Day. 1. In recognition that professional responsibilities and obligations may on occasion necessitate teachers working beyond the normal workday, teachers are permitted to leave school at the end of the student day on school days immediately preceding the weekend, a holiday, or student vacation day as long as students are not left unsupervised. Arrangements will be made which are appropriate to the individual school to insure that teachers needed to supervise students on these days are given comparable release time on other days. Any shortened day for teachers under this provision will not be construed as infringing upon teacher planning time.
Shortened Day. The hours of work on the last work day of the week during winter, spring, and summer vacation for twelve (12) month secretarial/clerical/technology and ten (10) month building secretarial employees shall be 8:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. except that the Friday before the first day of teacher in service at the beginning of each school year, which shall remain a regular work day. In exchange for this regular workday, a different half-day of attendance shall be scheduled by the administration in that school year.
