Stewards and Alternates Sample Clauses

Stewards and Alternates have no authority to take strike action, or any other action interrupting the Employer’s business, except as authorized by official action of the Union.
Stewards and Alternates. There shall be one xxxxxxx in the elementary and one xxxxxxx in the middle/high school buildings of the Houghton-Portage Township School System. The union will furnish the Superintendent of Schools with the names of its authorized representatives and such changes as may occur from time to time in such personnel so that the Employer may at all times be advised as to the authority of the individual representatives of the Union with which it may be dealing.
Stewards and Alternates. The number of stewards shall be as mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Union. The Union will furnish the Superintendent of Schools with the names of its authorized representatives and such changes as may occur from time to time in such personnel so that the Employer may at all times be advised as to the authority of the individual representatives of the Union with which it may be dealing. The Employer agrees in return through the Office of the Superintendent to keep the Union advised as to its representatives. There shall be three (3) Union stewards; one representing the custodial employees, one representing all food service employees and one representing the bus drivers and mechanic.
Stewards and Alternates. A. The Board recognizes the right of the Union to appoint and/or elect from the seniority list one Xxxxxxx representing Bus Drivers and one Xxxxxxx representing Mechanics and their appropriate alternates. Their duties and responsibilities shall include cooperative efforts to develop and xxxxxx positive employee-employer relationships, as well as the presentation of grievances with the Board and/or its representatives. B. To facilitate the discharge of said responsibilities and duties, the Board agrees to permit the xxxxxxx of the bargaining unit per grievance presentation release time from employment duties without loss of time or pay, in accordance with the terms or this contract agreement, reasonable time to present grievances to the employer after first obtaining permission from his/her immediate supervisor with the understanding that this will not be abused. C. The authority of stewards and alternates so designated by the Union shall be limited to and not exceed the following duties and activities: 1. The presentation of grievances with the Board or its designee in accordance with the provisions of this bargaining agreement. Permission may be granted by the immediate supervisor and/or his/her designee in the presentation of said grievance. 2. The transmission of messages and information originating with or authorized by the Union or its officers and provided such messages have: a. Been reduced to writing; or b. If not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods, or any other interference with the Board's business. D. A xxxxxxx or alternate xxxxxxx of the bargaining unit will be allowed proper time off to attend all formal grievance procedures under this collective bargaining agreement except arbitration. E. The Board shall be notified by the Union in writing of the names of the stewards and alternates. Alternates shall serve only in the absences of the regularly assigned xxxxxxx. F. The authority of the Union Xxxxxxx shall be limited to the acts or functions which said stewards are authorized to perform in this Agreement.
Stewards and Alternates. In each district, as defined herein, employees shall be represented by one (1) xxxxxxx who shall be a regular employee working in that district. C. Employees who are discharged will be given the opportunity to meet with the Xxxxxxx prior to leaving the Employer’s property. D. The authority of Stewards and alternates so designated by the Union shall be limited to and not to exceed the following duties and activities. (1) The investigation and presentation of grievances with the Board or its designee, in accordance with the provisions of this bargaining Agreement. Permission may be granted by the immediate supervisor and/or his designee in the proper investigation and presentation of said grievance. (2) The transmission of messages and information originating with or authorized by the Union or its officers and provided such messages have: a. been reduced to writing; or, b. if not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods, or any other interference with the Board's business. (1) Stewards will be allowed time off to attend grievances at Step 4. (2) For the purpose of layoff and recall, the Xxxxxxx shall head the seniority list, provided he/she has the present ability to perform the work available. (3) The Board shall be notified by the Union, in writing, of the names of the Xxxxxxx and alternates. a. Alternates shall serve only in the absence of the regularly assigned Xxxxxxx. (4) The authority of the Union Xxxxxxx shall be limited to the acts or functions which said Stewards are authorized to perform in this Agreement.

Stewards and Alternates. (a) In the administration of this Agreement, including administration of the grievance procedure prescribed herein, bargaining unit employees may be represented by the Union Xxxxxxx and/or another designated Union Representative having jurisdiction in the case. (b) As used in this Agreement, the term "Xxxxxxx" shall mean a bargaining unit employee designated by the Union. The Union may designate two (2) Stewards to serve this bargaining unit, one (1) of whom shall be designated as the Chief Xxxxxxx. No such Stewards shall function as such until the Trial Court Administrator has been notified in writing of their names.

The time spent by the Xxxxxxx and alternate during regular working hours in carrying out the authorized duties and activities described in this Article shall be by permission of the Chief of Police and shall be limited to two (2) hours per week for the Xxxxxxx and Alternate combined. The Alternate shall serve only in the Xxxxxxx'x absence from work for their shift. Such time spent in the duties and activities described in this Article shall be considered time worked and shall be computed in calculating overtime hours. III. With permission of the Chief of Police, the Xxxxxxx and Alternate may be allowed time off, without pay, to attend official Union functions (such as an annual convention) for up to five (5) days per year provided that the request is made in writing at least five (5) working days in advance of such function, there’s no disruption of departmental operations, and provided that the Town does not incur any expenses as a result of the absence of said Xxxxxxx or Alternate.
