Student Opinion Surveys. Students shall complete a student opinion survey questionnaire for instructional faculty members each fall and spring term on the Student Opinion Survey of Full- Time Faculty (See Appendix M), or on any mutually agreed upon replacement questionnaire.
1. Student opinion surveys shall be completed in at least two sections per term. The instructor may choose one of the sections to conduct the survey. If the faculty member is teaching lecture, laboratory, clinical, or distance learning courses, one of the evaluated courses should be didactic and the other should be either laboratory, clinical, or distance learning.
2. Student surveys should be scheduled for approximately two-thirds to three-fourths of the way through the term.
3. Students will be provided a secure Web-based interface in which to complete surveys anonymously and without replication. This interface will be accessible only to students enrolled in the course at the time of the survey. Faculty will be provided with a report summarizing student responses and feedback for the selected course section(s).
4. The supervising administrator and the faculty member may mutually agree to forego the student surveys in any given semester. The decision will be made not later than the mid- point of the term.
5. This questionnaire is to be utilized by the faculty member for improvements in his performance and in the course. The supervising administrator may elect to review and discuss recent student surveys with the faculty member. The Student Opinion Surveys will be available to the faculty member after grades are submitted, and no copies will be filed in the faculty member’s personnel file.
6. Results of the student surveys may be used by the faculty member’s supervising administrator in conducting and preparing the Instructional Faculty Evaluation Performance Review (Appendix B). Performance Review in the “Other supervising administrator comments” section based on student evaluations.
Student Opinion Surveys. Where the Collective Agreement applies to the course taught, any student opinion survey results for courses taught with the external partner shall be placed into the CAI’s Official File consistent with Article 23.06, only if the student opinion survey format has been approved using the required academic governance processes for student opinion surveys at UNB.
Student Opinion Surveys. As the basis for student feedback and course critique, Employees will conduct Student Opinion Surveys in at least one (1) class/professional staff activity each semester using a standard evaluation instrument, Appendix I. Student Opinion Survey data shall be considered when developing the Self-Authored Assessment Plan per Article 10.2.3. Student Opinion Surveys may not be used as a source of disciplinary action. Completed surveys of individual Employees are the property of the non-probationary Employee and are subject to his/her sole control. Probationary Employees must conduct the Student Opinion Survey in all sections of each course of their assignment each semester and submit them to the Department Chair at the end of each semester.

Student Opinion Surveys. A. Each fall and spring semester all courses will have Student Opinion Surveys (SOS) activated and faculty should encourage students to complete the surveys.
B. Surveys will be completed online provided that safeguards shall be in place to ensure that student surveys shall be confidential, no students shall generate more than one survey per class, every student who completes the section is permitted to complete a survey, and no student who has withdrawn from a section shall complete a survey for that section. Library and counseling faculty evaluations may use different instruments to best evaluate their job duties.
C. Faculty and Administration will form a committee to find an online student opinion survey to replace the present survey by Spring 2020.
D. Surveys shall be conducted no sooner than the ninth (9th) week and no later than the end of the fourteenth (14th) week of the semester. Alternative arrangements will be made for less than a 15 week term and summer courses.
E. The College will generate a summary report of all surveys and student written comments completed for each section for each faculty member for use in institutional effectiveness and determining trends.
Student Opinion Surveys. Each semester all bargaining unit members will have students in each assigned course section complete Student Opinion Surveys.
1. Each bargaining unit member will be evaluated online by students in all classes each semester. The summer sessions may be excluded.
2. Surveys shall be in accordance with this Agreement. Surveys shall be electronic and completed online. Reasonable safeguards shall be in place to ensure that student surveys shall be anonymous, no students shall generate more than one survey per class, every student who completes the section is permitted to complete a survey, and no student who has withdrawn from a section shall complete a survey for that section.
3. Surveys shall be conducted no earlier than the Last Day to Withdraw and no later than the week prior to final exams.
4. The College shall generate a summary report of all surveys providing average scores for each item and containing all student written comments each section for each bargaining unit member for use in institutional effectiveness and determining trends. All surveys shall continue to be “evaluation records”. However, only the summary reports shall be included in the final Faculty Performance Review document.
5. Surveys are intended to provide constructive feedback to faculty members to aid in personal and professional development and improvement. Trends over time may be considered as one aspect of the overall Performance Evaluation.
