Teacher Absences. Lessons that are cancelled by Instructor due to illness or other reasons will be rectified by providing a make-up Lesson or crediting the Lesson to Client (at MM’s discretion). Clients will not be penalized for teacher absences that are credited at the discretion of MM.

Teacher Absences. Section 1. In the absence of a teacher, management will make a reasonable effort to provide a substitute teacher to supervise a class. If no substitute teacher is provided, another paraprofessional will be called, or the class dissolved and the paraprofessional reassigned.
Teacher Absences. In the event a paraprofessional is assigned to “cover” a classroom during a teacher absence and no substitute is present, the para- professional shall be paid, in addition to his/her regular rate of pay, an additional forty dollars ($40) for a full day, or twenty dollars ($20) for one-half (1/2) day. Paraprofessionals assigned full time to a special needs student will not be used for classroom coverage. When the teacher of record is not in the classroom for more than 45 minutes, the paraprofessional will be paid in addition to his/her regular rate of pay, an additional forty dollars ($40) for a full day, (after 3-3/4 hours) or twenty dollars ($20) for more than 45 minutes of one-half (1/2) day. Paraprofessionals who cover classes for less than 45 minutes will not receive additional compensation. When a teacher returns briefly to “check in” and leaves again prior to the minutes/hours guidelines as listed above, the paraprofessional(s) will get the additional money due as designated above, as if the teacher never returned. When more than one paraprofessional is covering the classroom in a situation as described above, the additional twenty dollars ($20) or forty dollars ($40) will be split, and/or rotated between the paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom. If, in a building there are two teachers out and only one teacher substitute can be provided, the paraprofessional who receives the forty dollar ($40) stipend will be rotated whenever possible.

Teacher Absences. C.2.4.1 For absences due to injuries or accidents covered by the Workplace Safety Insurance Board, the York Region Board shall pay full salary, deducting from cumulative sick leave the number of days equivalent to the fraction of salary between compensation payments and full salary. Under exceptional circumstances leave of absence without pay may be granted at any time on the recommendation of the Director. During such leave no fringe benefits shall be paid and no sick leave credits shall accrue. If a teacher returns to the Board within a two-year period, there shall be full reinstatement of sick leave credits. The teacher's return would normally be at the beginning of a term or whenever a suitable vacancy was available. C.2.4.3 There shall be no deduction from either pay or the sick leave account of a teacher absent from duty by reason of a summons to serve as a juror or a subpoena as a witness in any proceeding to which he/she is not a party or one of the persons charged, provided that the teacher pays the Board any fee exclusive of travelling allowance and living expenses that he/she receives as a juror or as a witness.

A teacher who is absent due to injury compensable under Michigan Workers’ Compensation may elect to subsidize his/her worker’s compensation check in the following manner: The teacher may endorse his/her worker’s compensation check over to the Board of Education and in return the Board will pay the teacher’s full contractual weekly salary for a period of ninety (90) days without loss in accumulated paid leave days. After that period the teacher may elect to use the portion of his/her paid leave days (financial worth) which makes up the difference between his/her weekly worker’s compensation payment and weekly contractual salary payment. The policy shall continue until such time that the accumulated leave expires or the long-term-disability policy begins, whichever occurs first. 2. A teacher may be absent without loss of compensation or charge against his/her leave allowances for the following reasons: a. mandatory service on a jury, or appearance in court as a subpoenaed non-party witness relating to a matter incident to his/her employment; b. visitations, conferences, or conventions approved by the Board of Education; c. Selective Service physical examination; d. with the approval of the superintendent or designee, in connection with any incident of assault or civil suit arising from actions taken in good faith and within the scope of his/her employment. e. other reasons upon the approval of the superintendent.

  • Reporting Absences Employees are responsible for reporting to work on time on each scheduled work day. When an Employee is absent from work, they will notify their Supervisor or designate by telephone before the beginning of the work period or as soon as practicable. The Employee shall inform their Supervisor or designate of the reason for the absence, the expected time of their return to work and a telephone number where they may be reached in their absence.

  • Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence. During such absence, Landlord may enter the premises at times reasonable necessary to maintain the property and inspect for damages and needed repairs.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
