Texting. All residents will be automatically opted in to University Housing's text messaging system. University Housing reserves the right to send broadcast or individual text messages which are related to emergencies, housing building conditions, or activities for which urgent notice is required and that will potentially affect most of the recipients. To Opt-Out of Text Messages, please visit the University Housing Portal via xx.xxxxxxx.xxx. Carriers may charge for text messages, and charges are the responsibility of the individual not the university.

Texting. Collaborator agrees to encourage its employees, contractors and subcontractors not to text while driving while engaged in activities Under this Agreement. For purposes of this paragraph, “Text,” “Texting” or “Text Messaging” mean reading from or entering data into any handheld or other electronic device, including for the purpose of SMS texting, e-mailing, instant messaging, obtaining navigational information, or engaging in any other form of electronic data retrieval or electronic data communication. “Driving” means operating a motor vehicle on an active roadway with the motor running, including while temporarily stationary because of traffic, a traffic light or stop sign, or otherwise. It does not include operating a motor vehicle with or without the motor running when one has pulled over to the side of, or off, an active roadway and has halted in a location where one can safely remain stationary.
