Time Off for Union Activity. 19.1 Any employee elected by the Union to represent such Union at International, State or District meetings, and which requires his or her absence from duty, may be granted the necessary time off to attend such meetings without pay and without discrimination and without loss of seniority rights or any other rights granted by the Employer, provided such absence does not interfere with the services of the particular department.

Such resolved grievances and matters shall be final and binding upon the employees and the Union. 15.2 Up to 4 employees elected by the Local to perform as negotiators shall be paid their regu- lar hourly pay for all hours of joint negotiations as well as travel time to such meetings. Employees elected by the Local will not be paid for pre-negotiating sessions. The Union will provide LARL management with the names of the members of its negotiating team two weeks prior to the initial joint meeting and give as much advance notice as possible of any changes during negotiations.

Section 2.10.1: The Employer agrees to permit the members of the Union who are elected or designated to attend any conference on behalf of the Orleans County Deputy Sheriff’s Association to attend such functions without loss of time or pay, provided that a request for such release is made by the Union to the Sheriff no less than five (5) work days prior to the date that the function is scheduled. Time Off for Union Activity. No employee shall engage in any UNION activity, solicit membership or collect UNION dues during working time, except as otherwise provided for in this Agreement.
Time Off for Union Activity. Local Union representatives shall be allowed time off for legitimate Union business such as State or area wide Union committee meetings, and State or International conventions, not to exceed five (5) days for each request. Such representative shall give four (4) shift days’ notice to his/her supervisor of such absence. The Employee shall utilize any accumulated time (holiday, vacation days) for said time off. Such time off shall not cause more than six (6) platoon personnel to be scheduled off, nor force changes in previously approved time off. Voluntary shift changes by the employees affected will be allowed. The Union President and Secretary-Treasurer will be allowed time not to exceed four (4) hours, to attend regularly scheduled monthly Union meetings, provided that the Shift Commander is advised of such meeting two (2) shift days in advance of such meetings. These employees shall be considered on duty and available for all emergency calls. Up to three (3) members of the Negotiating Team shall be allowed time off from duty without loss of pay for meetings which shall be mutually set by the Employer and the Union. The release from duty for such employees shall be one half (1/2) hour prior to the meeting and one (1) hour after the conclusion of the meetings.

Local Union representatives shall be allowed reasonable time off without pay for legitimate Union business such as Union meetings, State or area wide Union committee meetings, State or international conventions, provided such representatives shall give notice to his/her supervisor of such absence and shall be allowed such time off if it does not substantially interfere with the operating needs of the Employer. Such time off shall not be detrimental in any way to the employee's record. The number of representatives selected to attend such activities shall not exceed one (1) employee from within the same division unless otherwise agreed to by the Director of the department. For the Union's monthly meeting, one elected shift officer shall be released from duty to attend this meeting, with pay, up to a total of three hours. The City may seek a volunteer to fill this vacancy. If a volunteer is not available, the City may refuse the employee to attend this meeting due to an emergency, or staffing needs within the department. Effective 4/24/05 the practice of payment of Union officials for Union business for employers other than the City of Peoria will be discontinued. Any further payment by the City after that date will require the Union to reimburse the City for such wage expenditures.
