USE OF HOLIDAY LEAVE. A member may use holiday leave on the day the holiday is celebrated or on any day thereafter until the end of the fiscal year. Holiday leave not used on the holiday may be taken in one (1) hour increments.

USE OF HOLIDAY LEAVE. Holiday Leave is available to employees other than those assigned to the PSO/EO classification. Such employees not regularly scheduled to work on a holiday may defer their holiday pay into a holiday leave bank for future use subject to the following conditions;
USE OF HOLIDAY LEAVE. 1. Unit employees may take his/her unused Holiday Leave Time as approved by Police Management with due regard to the service needs of the City and the needs of the unit employee.
USE OF HOLIDAY LEAVE. Holiday leave days are to be used as soon after they are earned as is convenient for the employee, but in no event shall an employee wait longer than twelve (12) months from the date a holiday leave day was earned. The primary concern of the Employer when granting a holiday leave day is that it not result in the shift strength being dropped below what the Chief has determined to be an acceptable minimum level and then forcing a build up on the shift by scheduling employees on an overtime basis. Written requests for the use of a holiday leave day that are submitted at least two (2) weeks in advance shall be honored in the order received up to the point of scheduling no more than one (1) employee on an overtime basis in order to maintain the acceptable minimum shift strength. Requests filed within two (2) weeks of the desired date will be granted only if it is mutually convenient and does not result in the necessity of scheduling employees on an overtime basis in order to maintain the acceptable minimum shift strength.
USE OF HOLIDAY LEAVE. (a) The City shall guarantee that each Member shall have the right to utilize four (4) accrued holidays as defined in this article. Members shall be allowed to utilize these accrued holidays at their discretion, except on January 1st, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, and December 25th or an emergency declared by the Fire Chief, and as long as at least four (4) working days advance notice is given to the City. During non-peak months for the term of this Agreement, no more than 7% of the minimum staffing of each shift in the Emergency Response Division shall be allowed to exercise this discretionary holiday leave on any given day, without written permission from the Fire Chief. During peak months, the Fire Chief shall be entitled to establish limits on the use of holiday time consistent with minimum staffing requirements, and existing budgetary limitations. In the event more than the maximum requests are made on any given day, the Fire Chief, or his designee, shall grant the requests based on departmental seniority.

  • GENERAL HOLIDAYS 13.01 The following days shall be recognized and considered as paid general holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Xxxxx Xxx Day and any other day or portion of a day designated as a paid holiday by the Civic, Provincial or Federal Government.

  • Holiday Leave Holiday leave provisions shall be as noted below:

  • Annual Holidays (i) On completion of 12 months continuous service an employee shall be entitled to annual paid leave of 4 working weeks.

  • Legal Holidays In any case where the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date, but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.
