VACANCIES / CLASSIFICATION POSTINGS. 9.01 Classification vacancy(ies) are newly created positions or positions that have been vacated by an employee or any additional positions that are required by the Company to meet its business obligations. When the Company determines that there is a permanent vacancy it shall be posted on the bulletin board for three (3) working days within seven (7) working days from the date the classification vacancy has been created. Said classification vacancy to be filled shall be awarded to the senior qualified employee within fifteen (15) calendar days from the end of the three (3) day posting, providing the remaining employees can satisfactorily and efficiently perform the work required, but in any event said classification vacancy shall be awarded within forty-five (45) calendar days and the employees movement to the awarded position shall not be unreasonably delayed. The name of the successful applicant is to be posted on the bulletin board.

VACANCIES / CLASSIFICATION POSTINGS. 9.01 Available General Labour one (GL1) classification vacancies will be listed and updated on a weekly basis indicating department and scheduled times. In the event that an employee applies for an available General Labour one (GL1) Classification, they shall submit their request before the list is updated the following week. The Company will then give them the opportunity to qualify for the next available position based on their ability to perform the work. Employees who apply and are accepted for a position above may not apply for another General Labour one (GL1) classification posting until they have worked six (6) months in the position.

When the Company determines that there is a permanent vacancy in a semi- skilled classification or higher or any additional positions in a semi-skilled classification or higher it shall be posted on the bulletin board for three (3) working days. Said classification vacancy to be filled shall be awarded to the senior qualified employee within fifteen (15) calendar days from the end of the three (3) day posting, providing the remaining employees can satisfactorily and efficiently perform the work required, but in any event said classification vacancy shall be awarded within forty-five (45) calendar days and the employees movement to the awarded position shall not be unreasonably delayed. The name of the successful applicant is to be posted on the bulletin board. Employees requesting to transfer department or shift shall express their interest to the Company on a form provided by the Human Resources Department. As General Labour 1 and General Labour 2 positions become available, they will be awarded to the most senior employee who has expressed their interest in a transfer. Employees awarded positions through this process will automatically qualify for the role without a required training or qualification period. Successful transfers under this provision will be subject to Article 9.05.

  • New Classifications If a new classification is created within the bargaining unit, the Employer agrees to meet with the Union and negotiate a rate of pay for this new classification. If the parties cannot reach agreement, at the request of either party, the matter shall be submitted to the arbitration procedure in Article 26 of this Agreement.

  • New Job Classifications 11.1 Whenever the Company determines it appropriate to create a new job classification in the bargaining unit, it shall proceed as follows.

  • Position Classification 1. The requirements of each position will be documented by a Position Description developed by reference to the Position Description Questionnaire (PDQ), and classified into a salary grade consistent with the Position Description and classifications for corresponding job duties found throughout the USNH System and according to USNH policy and processed by the KSC Office of Human Resources.

  • JOB CLASSIFICATIONS For the purpose of this Agreement the following classifications will be applicable:

  • New Classification Should a new position or new classification be created within the Bargaining Unit during the term of this Agreement, the Employer and the Union will decide the rate of pay. Nothing herein prevents the Employer from filling such positions and having Nurses working in such positions during such negotiations. The salary when determined will be retroactive to the date on which the successful candidate commenced work in that classification.

  • FURNITURE CLASSIFICATIONS Furniture classifications include but not limited to: Cafeteria, Dormitory, Library Shelving and Library Related, Lounge, Systems (Modular), School (Classroom), Freestanding, Seating, Filing Systems and Equipment, and Technology Support.

  • Job Classification When a new classification (which is covered by the terms of this Collective Agreement) is established by the Hospital, the Hospital shall determine the rate of pay for such new classification and notify the local Union of the same. If the local Union challenges the rate, it shall have the right to request a meeting with the Hospital to endeavour to negotiate a mutually satisfactory rate. Such request will be made within ten (10) days after the receipt of notice from the Hospital of such new occupational classification and rate. Any change mutually agreed to resulting from such meeting shall be retroactive to the date that notice of the new rate was given by the Hospital. If the parties are unable to agree, the dispute concerning the new rate may be submitted to arbitration as provided in the Agreement within fifteen (15) days of such meeting. The decision of the Board of Arbitration (or arbitrator as the case may be) shall be based on the relationship established by comparison with the rates for other classifications in the bargaining unit having regard to the requirements of such classification. When the Hospital makes a substantial change in the job content of an existing classification which in reality causes such classification to become a new classification, the Hospital agrees to meet with the Union if requested to permit the Union to make representation with respect to the appropriate rate of pay. If the matter is not resolved following the meeting with the Union the matter may be referred to Arbitration as provided in the Agreement within fifteen (15) days of such meeting. The decision of the Board of Arbitration (or arbitrator as the case may be) shall be based on the relationship established by comparison with the rates for other classifications in the bargaining unit having regard to the requirements of such classifications. The parties further agree that any change mutually agreed to or awarded as a result of arbitration shall be retroactive only to the date that the Union raised the issue with the Hospital. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if as a result of compensable illness or injury covered by WSIB an employee is unable to carry out the regular functions of her position, the Hospital may, subject to its operational requirements, establish a special classification and salary in an endeavour to provide the employee with an opportunity of continued employment. This provision shall not be construed as a guarantee that such special classification(s) will be made available or continued.

  • SPECIALIZED JOB CLASSES Where there is a particular specialized job class in which the pay rate is below the local market value assessment of that job class, the parties may use existing means under the collective agreement to adjust compensation for that job class.

  • JOB CLASSIFICATION AND RECLASSIFICATION 26.01 In order to ensure the appropriate classification of jobs listed under Schedule "A" of the collective agreement, the Parties agree that matters related to the classification of new or existing jobs shall be dealt with in accordance with the Joint Job Evaluation Manual of Procedures forming part of this collective agreement. (Appendix "B").

  • COVERED CLASSIFICATIONS All employees shall be subject to post-Accident testing under this Agreement. All employees who perform Safety-Sensitive Functions, as defined in this Policy, shall be subject to reasonable suspicion testing.
