Xxxxxxxxxx Leave. Any staff member identified as a close contact who must quarantine as a result of a work-place exposure will not suffer a loss of pay or sick leave.

Teachers who are required to quarantine for COVID-19 related reasons may volunteer to provide instruction remotely via Zoom to students in the classroom while those students are supervised by a substitute and that such teachers be compensated for the additional time needed to prepare for such Zoom instruction.
Xxxxxxxxxx Leave. The Board shall grant leave without pay to the president of the Federation during the term of office. Upon return to the District, the Federation President shall be placed in an open position at the classification level of attainment prior to taking leave plus step increases that otherwise would have been obtained. The following conditions shall apply to all extended leaves of absence:
a. All requests for extended leaves of absence will be applied for and granted in writing through the Department of Human Resources.
b. In the event of a Reduction in Force (RIF) the paraprofessional on leave and whose position was held at the worksite, shall be subject to the reduction guidelines.
c. Paraprofessionals shall continue to accrue seniority in the District while on approved extended leave.
d. Except to the extent required pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), employee benefits will not be provided to a paraprofessional while on an unpaid extended leave of absence.

May be granted in accordance with Section 572 of the School Code of 1955, as amended, the same being MSA 15.3572, as hereinafter paraphrased or to other eligible employees as set forth herein. It is expressly understood that the Board shall not be liable for death or injury sustained by any employee while on Sabbatical as hereinafter set forth:

Xxxxxxxxxx Leave. In order that members of the professional staff may be able to take advantage of opportunities for advanced study, significant travel, or other means of professional development, one (1) sabbatical leave of absence may be granted annually. The leave may be granted for one semester at full salary, or for two semesters, at half salary. Sabbatical leave may be granted by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. Criteria to be used in selecting staff members for sabbatical leave shall be:
1. Factors vital to the professional development of the individual and the school program;
2. A unit member may apply for this leave after completing seven (7) years in this District;
Xxxxxxxxxx Leave. The Board may grant a one (1) year leave of absence without pay to a teacher for the purpose of full time advance study. The leave request must be approved by the Superintendent and Board. Application for such leave must be made to the office of the Superintendent not later than July 1, preceding the requested year of absence. The Board shall attempt, but is under no obligation, to assign the teacher after his/her return to the same school, teaching position, or other assignment he/she occupied or performed prior to taking said leave of absence.
Xxxxxxxxxx Leave. Bargaining unit members, who have been employed for seven (7) consecutive years by the Caseville Public School, may be granted a sabbatical leave devoted to professional improvement upon presentation and approval by the Board of Education. Compensation, including, but not limited to salary, retirement, fringe benefits and seniority will not be provided to the employee. In addition, experience credit will not be gained for the duration of the leave. Upon return from the sabbatical leave, the bargaining unit member shall be restored to the same position or to a position for which they are qualified, and be placed on their next experience and seniority level, with no loss of accumulated sick days. A sabbatical leave is to be applied for a minimum of ninety (90) days in advance of the succeeding school year. The leave shall be for one (1) year commencing with the day preceding the succeeding school year and concluding in 360 days. The bargaining unit member shall file a statement of intent to return at least ninety (90) days prior to the termination of the leave. Failure to comply with this provision will indicate that the bargaining unit member does not intend to return to duty at Caseville Public School.
Xxxxxxxxxx Leave. Leave of absence for educational training may be granted to teachers under the following conditions:
1. A teacher requesting sabbatical leave must have a minimum of five (5) years experience within the New England Public School System.
2. Eligible teachers must apply to the Superintendent of Schools by February 15th. All leave requests will be subject to final approval by the school board.
3. Sabbatical leaves shall be for a school (academic) year.
4. Teachers granted a sabbatical leave will be assured of an equitable position in the New England Public School System at the conclusion of the leave. Equitable shall be defined as the same subject area in grades 7-12 and a position in grades K-6.
5. Teachers on a sabbatical leave are eligible to remain in the school district’s dental and health insurance groups through self-payment to the school at the rate of the monthly premiums.
6. Teachers who have been granted sabbatical leave must submit written acceptance of the same to the superintendent on or before May 15th. Written acceptance will imply no teaching position at the school for the sabbatical year granted.
