Missed Meal Breaks. Missed Meal Breaks. (a) When a paramedic crew does not receive an entitled meal break prior to the respective periods, the paramedic crew shall notify the DC and complete a missed meal break form. They will be compensated one and a half (1.5) times their rate of pay for an additional thirty (30) minutes to their scheduled shift, in respect of each meal break which was missed during the shift. This shall be considered missed meal break compensation. For clarity, it is agreed that where missed meal break compensation is payable, late meal break compensation shall not be payable in respect of the same meal break.

(Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) When overtime is necessary, it is agreed that such work will be spread as evenly as possible among the members of the bargaining unit qualified to do the work required.
