Peer Assistance. 1. The District will offer peer assistance to any employee it determines to have a deficiency specified in ORS 342.865 (1) (a), (d), or (h) (if applicable) or who is placed on a program of assistance for performance reasons. The District may also offer peer assistance under any other circumstances it deems appropriate.
Peer Assistance. Both new and experienced teachers benefit from professional support provided by other classroom teachers. For the purpose of this article, peer assistance describes activities planned and implemented by the Consulting Teacher in collaboration with the Participating Teacher and the supervising administrator. The activities shall be designed to strengthen the Participating Teacher’s skill and expertise in accordance with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession in the following areas: mastery of content, instructional skills and techniques, alignment to District approved goals and objectives, classroom management, planning and designing lessons for all children, assessment of student progress toward established standards, appropriate learning environment.

For the purposes of this Article, peer 16 assistance describes activities planned and implemented by the Consulting Teacher 17 in collaboration with the Participating Teacher and the supervising administrator. 18 These activities shall be designed to strengthen the Participating Teacher's skill and 19 expertise in the California Standards for the Teaching Profession: 20
Peer Assistance. A peer assistance program shall be established to assist teachers to improve their performance. At a minimum, the program shall include the following requirements:
Peer Assistance. District or the Association may wish to have a joint committee study and make recommendations on the terms and conditions for using peer assistance with a plan of assistance and evaluation. Such a joint committee would commence upon written request by the Association or the District.
Peer Assistance. 9.9.6.1 The District will offer peer assistance for a member who is placed on a program of assistance. The member who will receive the assistance shall jointly select the person with mutual input from the Association and the District.

Peer Assistance. Any teacher needing assistance will select a peer mentor from the appropriate district subject area director’s formulated and approved list. This mentor will not work at the school site of the teacher needing assistance. This peer mentor will be given release time to work with the teacher when planning and observing the teacher during classroom instruction as mutually agreed upon by school site principals. The peer mentor will not be involved in the evaluation process and will help the teacher meet the goals of the Professional Improvement Plan.
Peer Assistance. In developing programs of assistance, the District will utilize peer assistance whenever practical and reasonable to aid teachers to better meet the needs of students. Peer assistance shall be voluntary and subject to the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. No witness or document related to the peer assistance or the record of peer assistance shall be admissible in any proceeding before the Fair Dismissal Appeals Board, or in a probationary teacher non-renewal hearing before a school board under ORS 342.835, nor can it be used in any evaluation document, without the mutual consent of the District and the teacher provided with peer assistance. Peers may not evaluate unit members.
