Retirement Sick Leave Conversion a. For purpose of retirement contributions to the Plan, all employees covered by this agreement who retire during the term hereof shall be eligible, and excess sick leave shall be defined as the sick leave days accruing to the credit of such employee during the term of this agreement.
Retirement Sick Leave Conversion. A sick leave credit account shall be established for each employee who: (1) separates from employment and concurrently assumes a retired status, either deferred, service, or disability, in the San Xxxxxxx County Retirement Association; (2) continues such employee's coverage under a County health insurance plan; and (3) has at least one hundred and sixty (160) hours of accumulated sick leave as of the date of separation. Such account shall be credited upon separation with as many days of accumulated sick leave as the employee so chooses to pay the monthly health insurance premiums as well as the dental insurance premium for any dental plan offered by SEIU. For the purposes of this Section, each eight (8) hours of sick leave is equal to one (1) day. The account shall be eligible for use by the employee and the employee's dependents eligible under the plan, as of the effective date the retired employee is first paid a monetary retirement allowance by the Retirement Association and shall continue until such account is fully depleted, the employee ceases to be a member of the Retirement Association, or the employee and all the employee's dependents cease to be covered by the health insurance plan, whichever first occurs. Retirees who are on deferred status shall be eligible for health insurance coverage but may not utilize such account mentioned above until otherwise eligible. The amount of credit allowed for each day of accumulated sick leave shall be calculated as follows: The dollar value of the conversion shall be capped at $221.24 for each eight (8) hours of sick leave. Pursuant to San Xxxxxxx County Ordinance No. 4122, employees eligible for sick leave credit accounts under this section will be offered the opportunity to use accumulated sick leave for service credit under Government Code Section 31641.03 in lieu of a sick leave credit account. Any employee hired after August 27, 2001 shall not be eligible for this benefit.
Retirement Sick Leave Conversion. Any Bargaining Unit employee who retires, after ten (10) years of continuous service, under the provisions of the P.E.R.S., or any other applicable plan of the State of Ohio or the county of Defiance, pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code 124.39B, will be compensated for accumulated, but unused, sick leave at the time of retirement in the following manner:

Retirement Sick Leave Conversion. A sick leave credit account, also commonly referred to as a “sick leave bank,” shall be established for each court employee who: (1) separates from employment and concurrently assumes a retired status, either deferred, service, or disability, in SJCERA;
Retirement Sick Leave Conversion. Unless otherwise approved by the City Manager at the request of the employee, any bargaining unit employee who retires (PERS) after ten (10) years of continuous service with the City or who dies in service after five (5) years of continuous service with the City shall be compensated for accumulated, but unused, sick leave at the time of retirement or death in the form of a lump sum payment in the following manner:

Any Bargaining Unit employee who retires after ten (10) years of continuous service will be compensated for accumulated, but unused sick leave earned while employed with the City of Defiance at the time of retirement in the following manner: One (1) day's pay for every two (2) days of accumulated but unused sick leave, not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days. An employee's "daily base rate" or "day's pay" shall be figured by dividing the employee's annual base rate at the time of retirement by 2,080 hours and multiplying that base hourly rate figure by eight (8) hours. In case of death of an active employee, after one (1) year of continuous service, his accumulated sick leave will be converted to a lump sum payment at the rate of one (1) day's pay for each (2) days of accumulation, payable to his beneficiary previously designated by him in writing on a form provided by the City. If there is no valid designation, the payments shall be made to his estate, upon the application of the personal representative.

For employees who were employed on or before August 27, 2001, a sick leave credit account, also commonly referred to as a “sick leave bank,” shall be established for each employee who: (1) separates from employment and concurrently assumes a retired status, either deferred, service, or disability, in SJCERA; (2) continues or defers such employee’s coverage under a County-sponsored group health, dental, or vision insurance plan; and (3) has a least one hundred and sixty (160) hours of accumulated sick leave as of the date of separation. The account shall be credited upon the employee’s separation with a dollar value based on the total accumulated sick leave hours to be converted to sick leave bank. For purposed of this Section, each eight (8) hours of sick leave is equal to one (1) day. The conversion rate is and shall not exceed $221.24 for each 8 hours of accumulated sick leave. As of the effective date the retired employee is first paid a retirement allowance by SJCERA, the retired employee may use the account to pay monthly premiums for County-sponsored health, dental, or vision plans in which the retired employee and/or his or her eligible dependents are enrolled, and shall continue until such account is fully depleted, the employee ceases to be a member of SJCERA, or the retired employee and all of his or her dependents cease to be enrolled in the plan(s), whichever first occurs. Employees who separate from employment and assume a deferred retirement status are eligible to enroll in County-sponsored group health, dental, or vision plans, but may not utilize their sick leave credit account to pay for monthly premiums unless and until they retire and receive a monthly retirement allowance from SJCERA. Pursuant to San Xxxxxxx County Ordinance No. 4122, employees eligible for sick leave credit accounts under this section who so elected, in a written acknowledgement received by the County on or before March 31, 2002, will receive additional retirement service credit pursuant to Section 31641.03 for their accumulated sick leave at retirement in lieu of a sick leave credit account.
Retirement Sick Leave Conversion. SECTION 1. An Employee may elect, at the time of formal retirement from active service with the Employer and with ten (10) or more years of prior service with the State or any political subdivision, to be paid in cash for twenty-five percent (25%) of his total unused accumulated paid sick leave. Such payment for sick leave on this basis shall be based on the Employee's rate of pay at the time of retirement. Payment for sick leave on this basis shall be considered to eliminate all sick leave credit accrued by the Employee at that time. Such payment shall be made only once to any Employee. The maximum payment shall not exceed thirty (30) days.

SECTION 1: Any employee employed prior to August 1,1998 who retires after ten (10) years continuous service will be compensated for accumulated sick leave earned while employed with the City of Defiance at the time of retirement, upon the basis of one (1) day's pay for every two (2) days of sick leave, for the first one hundred twenty (120) days of accumulated sick leave, and one (1) day's pay for each seven (7) days of sick leave for days over one hundred twenty (120) days of accumulated sick leave. In case of death of an active employee after ten (10) years of continuous service, his accumulated sick leave will be converted to a lump sum payment at the same rate payable to his beneficiary previously designated by him in writing on a form provided by the City.
