ASSOCIATION DUES OR FEES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. A. Any teacher who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership, may sign and deliver to the Board an assignment authorizing deduction of Dues, Assessments and Contributions to the Association. Pursuant to such authorization, the Board shall deduct one-ninth of such dues, assessments and contributions from the regular salary check of the teacher each month for nine (9) months, beginning in October and ending in May of each year. (Any teacher who shall not perform services for any entire month of the school year shall have his/her dues reduced by one-ninth of the yearly dues for each entire month he/she did not work, except where the failure to perform services during any month was the result of the teacher taking any paid leave of absence or sick leave provided for in this contract.)

ASSOCIATION DUES OR FEES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. A. Any teacher who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership, may sign and deliver to the Board an assignment authorizing deduction of professional dues. Assessments and contributions will be deducted upon mutual consent of the parties. Such authorization shall continue to be in effect from year to year. Such sum shall be deducted from regular salaries of such teachers and remitted to the Association.
ASSOCIATION DUES OR FEES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. A. The Board shall provide annually to the Association a list of teachers employed or to be employed by the Board, along with the full or part time status of each teacher and their salary schedule status. The Board shall provide notification of this same information for any additions or deletions that occur during the year. The Association agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Public Schools of Petoskey, its Board of Education, individual school board members, past and present, administrative employees and agents, past and present, against any and all claims, demands, costs, suits, damages, awards, judgments or other forms of liability, including but not limited to back pay damages and all court or administrative costs, including unemployment compensation costs, that may arise out of or by reason of any action taken by the Board or its agents for the purpose of complying with the terms of this Article. It is specifically and expressly agreed that any payment of any demand arising hereunder shall be made directly from the Association to the demanding party and at no time shall the Board be obligated to pay out any monies arising out of any claims or demands that are brought or made due to this Article. It is expressly understood that the Association has the right to select counsel, if necessary, for any defense necessary under this Article and shall have the sole discretion regarding the settlement of any claims to which the Association may be responsible. The Association agrees that it will take no action claiming or supporting the claim that its agreements in this section pertaining to defense, indemnification, and holding harmless are void or unenforceable. Further, in the event that it is ever determined that the Association's agreement to indemnify and/or hold harmless is void or unenforceable, this shall not affect the Association's duty to defend and assume all costs and expenses regarding defense.

Such authorization may be invoked or revoked in writing by the employee at any time. 7500 Every unit member shall become a member of the Association or pay to the Association an agency fee. 7510 A unit member may authorize payroll deduction for agency fees in the same manner provided for in Section 7100 or make payment directly to the Association. 7520 If a unit member does not pay his/her dues or fee obligation by payroll deduction, then the entire annual amount will be due and owing within thirty (30) days of his/her date of hire, return from leave and/or first day of the school year. 7600 Religious Exemption - If a unit member belongs to a recognized religious organization that does not allow its members to pay a representation/service fee to any employee organization, the unit member will pay an amount equal to the service fee that would have been paid to the Association by the unit member to one of the following organizations of the unit member's choice: (1) SVCTE Scholarship Fund,
