CHOICE OF VACATIONS. 23.02 The basic employee vacation groups involved and the number of people within each of these groups to be on vacation at any particular time during the entire calendar year will be determined by the Company. Choice of vacation periods within each group will be in the order of seniority based on net credited service.

CHOICE OF VACATIONS. A vacation schedule shall be posted as of May 1 of each calendar year. First choice of vacation periods shall be given to the employees in the order of seniority in their job classification. Changes shall be permitted to unchosen weeks provided thirty (30) days notice of such change is submitted to the employer. The City reserves the right to implement the following procedure for the scheduling of vacations for unit members, effective for vacation use on or after January 1, 2012. Vacation requests for the period January through April should be submitted by December 15 of the prior year. Attempts will be made to accommodate all vacation requests so submitted. If because of staffing requirements within the department or section all such requests cannot be granted, those requests where there is a conflict will be granted by seniority, and the person(s) whose requests cannot be granted will be provided the opportunity to select from within other available periods. Requests submitted after December 15 for the January to April time period will be granted on a first come, first served basis, taking into account date submitted, the previously approved requests, and the department/section’s staffing requirements. By April 15 of each year, vacation requests should be submitted for the remainder of the calendar year. Attempts will be made to accommodate all vacation requests so submitted. If because of staffing requirements within the department and/or section all such requests cannot be granted, those requests where there is a conflict will be granted by seniority, and the person(s) whose requests cannot be granted will be provided the opportunity to select from within other available periods. Requests submitted after April 15, for the remainder of the year will be granted on a first come, first served basis, taking into account date submitted, the previously approved requests, and the department/section’s staffing requirements. Pursuant to this paragraph, if two or more requests for the same time period are submitted on the same date, the request of the person with the most seniority will be granted first.
CHOICE OF VACATIONS. Employees shall be granted a choice of vacation in accordance with 16.03 and 16.04 provided that once the schedules have been posted they shall not be changed except by mutual con- sent between the employee and the Employer. Vacations shall be given consecutively except by mutual consent between the employee and the Employer. Vacation for the purposes of this Article shall include all current, accumulated and accrued an- nual leave. Employees shall not be compelled to take more annual leave than they request.
CHOICE OF VACATIONS. (a) The employees shall choose their vacation date by order of seniority within their department. Where seniority is identical, the provisions of article applies. In case that the hours are identical, the choice will be made by way of a lottery. The Company shall then determine the number of employees who may leave at the same time. The employees shall make their choice of vacation dates between March and March of each year. Employees who fail to make their choice within this time frame will be allotted vacation on the basis of existing availability.
CHOICE OF VACATIONS. Employees will be given their choice of vacation time as far as possible, subject to the work requirements of the department, availability of necessary substitutes and recognition of employees having the greatest Company seniority having the first choice of vacation time. Vacations may be scheduled at any time during the calendar year except when an employee with six weeks of vacation entitlement divides such vacation into more than two periods, then the sixth week of this vacation must be scheduled and completed before May 1 of the current year. Normally, vacations are scheduled for not less than one week at a time. However, an employee may, in a bona fide personal emergency, elect to use vacation time to which he/she is entitled in lieu of taking time off without pay. Vacation schedules shall be posted. All choices of vacation time must be indicated by April 1 of each year. Each employee will, in order of seniority, be given a limited time which, under normal circumstances, shall not be less than five days (three days for power station employees) in which to exercise his/her seniority rights in each choice of vacation time. If no choice has been indicated in the time allotted, or if the employee subsequently desires to change his/her vacation time, the employee loses his/her right of prior choice but may choose from the remaining time available after other employees have had an opportunity to make a choice. When vacation time is divided into more than one period, seniority can be exercised in the second choice only after all other employees have had the opportunity to make a first choice, and seniority can be exercised in a third choice only after all other eligible employees have had the opportunity to make a second choice. Employees will be permitted to use one week of their vacation in increments of one day. Such use will be permitted only upon the approval of the supervisor and subject to the following conditions.

  • Use of Vacation 23.2.2.1 Academic staff members may use vacation at times approved by the Xxxx which shall not interfere with the operation of the College. All vacation leaves require advanced written authorization by the employee's immediate supervisor; however, management may verbally approve short notice requests, subject to submission of written leave request form upon return.

  • Use of Vacation Leave A. Vacation Accruals earned at the end of the month are available for use the 1st of the following month.

  • VACATIONS AND VACATION PAY 9.01 All employees who are covered under this Agreement shall receive vacation pay as a percent of the employee's total earnings exclusive of the Employer's contribution to the Union's Pension, Health Benefit Plan, Education and Assistance Fund and Industry Fund. Income tax shall be deducted weekly from the employee's earnings increased by the amount of vacation pay.

  • HOLIDAYS AND VACATION Executive shall be eligible to accrue four (4) weeks of paid vacation per year and will receive paid Company holidays in accordance with Company policy.
