Compensation for Holidays Falling on Scheduled Day Off. When any of the above noted holidays fall on an employee’s scheduled day off, the employee shall receive another day off with pay within ninety (90) calendar days. If the employee has agreed in writing the substitute day can be scheduled up to 12 months after the holiday. When any of the above holidays falls during an employee’s scheduled vacation period, the holiday shall not be deducted from their vacation entitlement.

Part-time Employees who work less than sixty percent (60%) and who are not scheduled to work on a holiday are not entitled to a compensating day off except in the case of statutory holidays for which they shall be eligible for a compensating day off in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.
Compensation for Holidays Falling on Scheduled Day Off. When any of the holidays fall on an employee's scheduled day off, the employee shall receive another day off with pay at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and the Band Manager or their designate. Employees who are required to work on a statutory holiday shall be paid at the rate of double time (2). Payment of premiums under this provision does not detract from statutory holiday entitlements otherwise owing to the employee. If an employee terminates during the year, shall be entitled to the same portion of one hundred sixteen (116) days off that period of service in the year bears to a full year.

  • HOLIDAY COMPENSATION FOR TIME WORKED Employees required by their respective City representative to work on any of the above- specified or to substitute holidays excepting Fridays observed as holidays in lieu of holidays falling on Saturday, shall be paid for the legal holiday plus extra compensation of one (1) additional day’s pay at time and one-half (1-1/2) the usual rate in the amount of twelve (12) hours’ pay for eight (8) hours worked or a proportionate amount of less than eight (8) hours worked; provided, however, that at an employee’s request and with the approval of the appointing officer, an employee may be granted compensatory time off in lieu of paid overtime.

  • Holiday Falling on a Day of Rest ‌ (a) When a paid holiday falls on a regular full-time employee's day of rest, the employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay in lieu of the holiday. (b) If a regular full-time employee is called in to work on the day designated as the lieu day pursuant to (a) above, he/she shall be compensated at time and one-half for all hours worked.

  • Public Holidays falling within Annual Leave (a) If a Public Holiday, as prescribed in this Agreement, falls within an Employee’s annual leave the Public Holiday does not constitute part of the Employee’s annual leave and will be paid as ordinary hours.
