Construction Phase Support. The Engineer will complete the following tasks as required during the construction phase:
1. Attend one (1) pre-construction meeting with County and/or City staff and the selected contractor.
2. Attend one (1) field review meeting with County and/or City staff and the contractor to review the locations of staked pole locations.
3. Attend one (1) field review meeting with County and/or City staff and the contractor to develop a final punch list to be addressed by the contractor prior to completion.
4. Review and approve or take other appropriate action in respect to shop drawings and samples and other data which contractor is required to submit, but only for conformance with the information given in the contract documents. Such review and approvals or other action will not extend to means, methods, techniques, equipment choice and usage, sequences, schedules, or procedures of construction or to related safety precautions and programs. The Engineer will review up to eight (8) contractor submittals.
5. Respond to reasonable and appropriate contractor requests for information (RFIs) and issue necessary clarifications and interpretations of the contract documents as appropriate. Any orders authorizing variations from the contract documents will be made by County and/or City. The Engineer will respond to up to four (4) RFIs.
6. Provide minor revisions to plans to address differing site conditions, third party accommodation, or other owner directed changes. Revisions to plans will include revision clouds around any changes, will include descriptions and quantities of changes, and CAD files. The Engineer will provide up to two (2) minor plan revisions.
7. Prepare record drawings based on redlines from County, City, and/or contractor. The Engineer shall not be responsible for the means, methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures of construction selected by the contractor or the safety precautions and programs incidental to the work of the contractor. The Engineer shall not guarantee the performance of the contractor nor be responsible for the acts, errors, omissions, or the failure of the contractor to perform the construction work in accordance with the contract documents. County agrees to include in all construction contract provisions the indemnification of both County and the Engineer for contractor’s negligence and to name both County and the Engineer as additional insured on the applicable contractor’s insurance policies.
Construction Phase Support. The Architect shall be retained (or such Architect Agreement shall otherwise be assigned to the City) for the duration of the Project’s construction such that the Architect will provide the City with construction support services related to the Project.
Construction Phase Support. The engineer will provide technical design support, respond to questions about the design that arise during construction.
Construction Phase Support. 4.2.1. Consultant’s responsibility to provide Basic Services for the Construction Phase under this Agreement shall commence with the “Notice to Proceed” (NTP) of the Contract for Construction and terminates on the date the City Council approves the Certificate of Completion. Consultant shall at all times have access to the work wherever it is in preparation or progress.
4.2.2. Consultant shall assist the City and the Project Manager or City Inspector in providing Administration of the Contract for Construction. Duties, responsibilities and limitation of authority of the Consultant shall not be restricted, modified or extended without written agreement of the City and Consultant.
4.2.3. Consultant shall attend the Pre-Construction Meeting.
4.2.4. The Consultant shall visit the site up to three (3) times as requested by the City for the benefit of the Project during this phase. During these site visits, the Consultant shall attend job progress meetings, pre-submittal meetings, pre-installation meetings, and other meetings as requested by the City. When visiting the site, the Consultant and its sub-consultant shall prepare a written field report noting their observations and specifically documenting action that should be taken by the City regarding such items, such as, but not limited to, contract deficiencies, change orders, and Contractor requests for information.
4.2.5. Consultant shall review Contractor’s submittals, including Shop Drawings, Product Data, and Samples. The Consultant’s action shall be taken with such reasonable promptness so as to cause no delay in the work, while allowing sufficient time in the Consultant’s judgment to permit adequate review unless otherwise agreed to. The Consultant will be allowed a maximum of fourteen (14) calendar days for submittals per review. The Consultant’s review shall not constitute review of safety precautions, unless otherwise specifically stated by the Consultant, of construction means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedures. The Consultant’s review of specific items shall not indicate approval of an assembly of which the item is a component. When professional certification of performance characteristics of materials, systems or equipment is required by the Contract Documents, the Consultant shall be entitled to rely upon such certification to establish that the materials, systems or equipment will meet the performance criteria required by the Contract Documents.

Construction Phase Support. Construction phase services include such services as shop drawing review, office and field engineering support, field observation, construction contract administration, change order review and processing, preparation of record drawings, etc. For this proposal it is assumed that PBS&J will perform no construction management, administration or field observation. We will assist with construction engineering support, including review of up to four (4) submittals, review of up to three (3) RFIs, review of up to one (1) change order, attendance at the pre- construction meeting and up to three (3) progress meetings. PBS&J will also complete record drawings on the mylars and in the Microstation files when construction is completed. Construction Phase Support. This subtask involves review/response of contractor submittals, conducting review/response of Contractor alternate cost reduction proposals, and adapting plans to design changes, such as change of site conditions, that arise during construction, and performing other design and construction engineering support activities requested by City Staff. Construction Phase Support subtask work also includes the following:
1.7.1. Attend field visits as requested by the City.
1.7.2. Perform the duties of the Professional Engineer of Record.
1.7.3. Review submittals for conformance with the plans, specifications, and design intent.
1.7.4. Evaluate and respond to Requests for Information.
1.7.5. Identify and make changes to design documents, if required.
1.7.6. Attend construction progress meetings as requested by the City.
1.7.7. Prepare design clarifications to modify the contract documents sealed by the Engineer of Record, if required.
1.7.8. Assist the City for review of field directed changes, if required.
1.7.9. Provide periodic construction observation, as requested by the City, and as required by permits.
1.7.10. Evaluate Contractor’s cost proposals, change order requests, and notices of change, as requested by the City.
1.7.11. Perform as-built survey of completed work.
Construction Phase Support. Civil West Engineering will provide construction phase support to address requests for information (RFIs) and to provide inspection services. Assumptions: • Estimated maximum of 3 RFIs. • Assumes one pre-construction meeting with Contractor • Includes one post construction site inspection to verify adherence to plans.
Construction Phase Support. Once the 100% Construction Drawing plans are completed or the Building Permit is issued, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ has completed the Base Scope of Services. Any additional revisions to the construction documents, construction meetings, value engineering changes, or construction administration items will be billed as an hourly service. Dunaway will provide construction administration services as follows:
a. Attend a preconstruction meeting,
b. Review and respond on the Client’s behalf for shop drawing submittals related to elements of the design for which ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is responsible.
c. Review and respond to written Requests for Information from the Client’s contractor regarding elements of the design for which ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is responsible.
d. Two (2) site visits during construction, and
e. Final walk through. Only those services specifically mentioned in the Scope of Work section are offered as part of this proposal. The listed services have not been included in this proposal. Dunaway can provide or sub-consult many of these services if desired by the Client. If the Client determines any of these services is desired, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ can either amend this proposal to incorporate the desired service or services or recommend other actions to cover the needs as expressed.
Construction Phase Support. Engineer will assist the PCCA with limited general representation during the construction phase of the project. The PCCA will provide day to day project representative and standard general construction services. Engineer’s professional services provided during the project construction phase may include assisting the PCCA staff in in their general representation duties on an on-call basis by assisting in answering Contractor RFIs or reviewing Contractor submittals, or attending a pre-construction or monthly construction meeting subject to the following limitations:
A. Engineer anticipates assisting with (6) as funds allow.
B. Engineer anticipates assisting with (8) as funds allow.
C. Engineer anticipates assisting with (8) RFIs as funds allow.
Construction Phase Support. Geosyntec staff will be available to assist during construction phase, including responding to questions, or modifying design in response to unanticipated field conditions. Budgetted on level of support.
